Baker Skateboards was founded by Andrew Reynolds and Birdhouse team manager J. Strickland in the year 2000. J. Strickland was the brand manager and marketing genius behind the brand, but left Baker in 2001 to start the now defunct Bootleg Skateboards. Baker is one of skateboarding's last no-nonsense brands and is 100% committed to skateboarding and nothing more. In late 2011, Baker bought out their partnership with Blitz Distribution and relocated the brand to Baker Boys Distribution.
