Product Description
Built for capable young skiers ready to take their riding to the next level, the Prodigy Grom is a full-featured all-mountain twin-tip that refuses to dumb things down. The Fusion Wood Core delivers a lively poplar-and-foam blend for energetic pop and vibration control, while the Elliptical Sidecut and rocker tip and tail keep edge-hook out of the equation at speed and in landings. XL 2.2mm edges add durability where junior skis need it most.
Product Details
| Shape | Directional Twin: twin-tip with a slightly narrower tail than the tip, blending directional on-piste performance with freestyle attitude and easy switch skiing |
| Rocker Profile | Tip and tail rocker with 2 mm camber underfoot across all sizes. Tip rocker 200–255 mm and tail rocker 160–220 mm (varies by length). Float over variable snow, predictable edge engagement underfoot |
| Sidecut | Elliptical Sidecut: award-winning elliptical geometry with a longer radius underfoot for quick pivoting and shorter radii at tip and tail for easy turn initiation. Supports a wide range of turn lengths, edge angles, and binding positions |
| Core | Fusion Wood Core: performance blend of lightweight poplar wood and engineered foam. Poplar provides the backbone, strength, rebound, and predictable flex; foam zones reduce weight and absorb vibration. Result: a lively, agile ski that stays stable on edge and playful everywhere else |
| Edges | XL 2.2mm Edges: 2.2 mm thick steel edges for reinforced durability, sized for the Grom series |
| Sidewall / Cap | Anti-Chip Micro-Cap: hybrid construction combining a sandwich sidewall underfoot for edge hold and torsional stability with a cap topsheet wrap at tip and tail that protects the vulnerable topsheet-to-sidewall joint against chipping and delamination |

Prodigy Grom Skis 2027 FAQ
My kid skis all over the hill and is starting to hit small jumps — is the Prodigy Grom the right ski?
Yes. The Prodigy Grom is Faction's youth all-mountain freestyle twin-tip, built for capable young skiers who want to explore terrain and pop off features. It shares the same construction DNA as the adult Prodigy 1: a Fusion Wood Core, Elliptical Sidecut, Anti-Chip Micro-Cap tip and tail, and Full Strength Sidewall underfoot. Flex 6 keeps it playful and forgiving for growing riders.
What's the Fusion Wood Core, and why does it matter for a junior ski?
The Fusion Wood Core blends lightweight poplar wood with engineered foam zones. Poplar provides rebound, strength, and predictable flex; the foam reduces weight and absorbs vibration. For a junior ski, that combination means a lively, responsive feel without the heavy, dead sensation of a purely foam core, while staying light enough for smaller riders to maneuver easily.
Will the tips and edges hold up to a hard season of skiing and occasional rock strikes?
The Prodigy Grom uses Anti-Chip Micro-Cap construction, where the topsheet wraps around the tip and tail to bond with the sidewall, protecting the most vulnerable joint from splitting. XL 2.2 mm edges (vs. 2.0 mm standard) add extra resistance to impacts. This is meaningful for junior skiers who are still learning edge control and crash more frequently.
What sizes are available, and how should I size my child?
The Prodigy Grom comes in 103, 113, 123, 133, and 143 cm. A general guide: for an all-mountain freestyle ski, aim for a length that reaches somewhere between the chin and nose. Lighter or less aggressive riders lean shorter; heavier, faster-progressing kids size up. Weight also matters — a heavier child on a too-short ski will feel it flex out quickly.
Do bindings come included?
No, the Prodigy Grom ships flat. Bindings must be purchased and mounted separately. The drill spec is 3.6 x 7 mm, compatible with standard youth ski bindings. Have your shop match the binding DIN range to your child's weight and boot sole length.
