Legend X Winter Helmet - Black FAQ
Does the Legend X have MIPS protection?
No. The Legend X is the base version of Sandbox's Polycarbonate Collection helmet and does not include the Mips® Protection System. If you want rotational-impact protection, look for the Legend X Mips® variant instead; both share the same shell, liner, and features otherwise.
What safety certification does this helmet meet?
The Legend X is certified CE EN 1077:2007 Class B, the alpine skiing and snowboarding helmet standard, and is also UKCA certified. Class B allows more ventilation than Class A while still meeting impact requirements for on-mountain use.
Only Medium and Large are available, how do I know which fits me?
The Legend X ships in two sizes, Medium and Large, with no numeric head circumference chart published for this model. Fine-tuning happens through the Back Dial fit system, which adjusts snugness at two anchor points on each side once you're in the closer of the two sizes.
How do I adjust the fit once I'm wearing it?
The Legend X uses a Back Dial fit system: a rear dial tightens or loosens the internal cradle at anchor points on both sides of the helmet. That lets you dial in a snug, even fit over a beanie or bare head without swapping pads or liners.
Will this helmet stay comfortable and warm all day?
Yes. It comes with a removable, vented comfort liner that can be pulled for washing or swapped for airflow, plus removable padded ear covers for added warmth on cold days. Take the ear covers off on warmer days or leave them on when temperatures drop.
Can I wear headphones with this helmet?
Yes. The Legend X includes Audio Pockets, removable earpieces built with space for headphone speakers, so you can run audio without bulky external headphones pressing against your ears under the shell.
Is this helmet compatible with goggles?
The Legend X has a removable goggle clip at the back that secures your goggle strap in place, keeping it from sliding or gapping between the helmet and goggles. It's a simple clip-style attachment rather than a bulky mounting bracket.
What's actually protecting my head, shell or foam?
Both. The Legend X pairs an ultra-thin polycarbonate outer shell with an EPS (Expanded Polystyrene) foam liner underneath. The shell spreads and resists impact on the surface, while the dense EPS foam absorbs the force, the combination behind the CE EN 1077 certification.
