Which goggles are these lenses actually compatible with?
These aftermarket lenses are designed exclusively for the S/View 3 frame. They use a cylindrical shape that matches the S/View 3's curvature and install via a mechanical interchangeability system. They are not cross-compatible with other Salomon goggle frames such as the Sentry Pro or Sentry Prime.
What lens should I pick for variable conditions: it's cloudy in the morning and sunny by noon?
Go for the Photo ML Red (Cat.1-3, VLT 12–50%). It's a photochromic multilayer lens that automatically darkens or lightens based on UV exposure, so it covers you from overcast morning light all the way to bright midday sun without swapping lenses.
What's the difference between a Sigma lens and a regular multilayer lens?
The Sigma lenses filter out green light from the middle of the visible spectrum and amplify blue and red light. This boosts color contrast on snow, helping your eye read bumps and terrain variations faster. A standard Multilayer (ML) lens adds a multi-layered mirror coating for glare reduction and a more polished look, without the spectral tuning for snow contrast.
I ride mostly on bright bluebird days. Which category do I need?
Cat.3 is the right pick for full sun. The Sigma Sky Blue (Cat.3, VLT 13%) blocks 87% of light while keeping the Sigma contrast boost active for reading the snow surface. If you also want a bold mirror finish without Sigma, the ML Black (Cat.3, VLT 12%) is an alternative.
Do these lenses protect against UV rays?
Yes. All Salomon lenses, including every S/View 3 replacement option here, provide 100% UV cut. That applies regardless of the category or technology (Sigma, Multilayer, Flash, or Clear). ISO 18527-1:2022 compliant.
Will these lenses fog up on warm spring days?
Each lens comes with an anti-fog coating on the inner surface. When installed in the S/View 3 frame, the double lens construction adds a second layer of insulation that keeps the inner lens warmer than the outside air, while 360-degree ventilation circulates airflow through the frame to evacuate moisture.
I wear glasses under my goggles: will these lenses work for me?
