Product Description
Built small to fit big terrain, the Heli 2.0 Pro Xs shrinks Dakine's proven Heli platform to a youth-ready 18L frame without cutting corners on safety or carry versatility. A RECCO reflector keeps riders findable if things go sideways in the backcountry, while vertical, horizontal, and diagonal board/ski carry options adapt to whatever's strapped on for the climb. Padded straps and a mesh back panel keep young shredders comfortable lap after lap.

Heli 2.0 Pro Xs 18L Backpack - White Coated FAQ
Is this pack sized for kids or just a smaller adult pack?
The Heli 2.0 Pro XS 18L uses an extra-small specific fit built for short torsos and youth riders, not a scaled-down adult pack with the same geometry. At 18L it still carries the full Heli 2.0 Pro feature set, just proportioned for a smaller frame.
Can a younger rider carry a snowboard or skis with this pack?
Yes, it has vertical snowboard deployable carry with a horizontal option, plus diagonal or A-frame ski/splitboard deployable carry, the same systems used on the adult Heli 2.0 Pro packs. That means a youth rider isn't giving up carry versatility for the smaller size.
Does this pack have any avalanche safety feature for a younger or smaller rider?
Yes, RECCO technology is built in, letting professional rescuers using RECCO detectors locate the wearer faster in an avalanche or if lost in the backcountry. It's paired with a snow tools/shovel pocket with sleeves so a shovel and probe can be carried within reach.
Will this pack fit comfortably on a smaller frame for a full day out?
It uses a breathable mesh padded back panel with ergonomic padded shoulder straps sized to the extra-small fit, plus a 25 mm webbing hip belt with wings for cinching the load. A removable sternum strap with a built-in rescue whistle adds a safety touchpoint sized for the same frame.
Can I carry a helmet without giving up main pack space?
Yes, there's a removable helmet carry with a stash pocket on the lumbar panel, separate from the main compartment that holds snow tools, skis, or splitboard. You can take the helmet net off entirely on days you don't need it.
