Product Description
The Dakine Poacher 22L Backpack is built for riders who move between resort laps and backcountry missions. Vertical snowboard and diagonal or A-frame ski/splitboard carry systems switch on demand, while a zippered back panel opens onto a fleece-lined goggle pocket and dedicated shovel sleeve. A padded 38mm hip belt and molded, snow-shedding back panel keep the load stable and dry across a full day on the mountain.

Poacher 22L Backpack - Black FAQ
Can I open this pack without unloading from the top?
Yes, the Poacher 22L has back panel zippered main access, so you can reach your gear from the back without pulling everything out the top. That's useful when the pack is loaded with a shovel, tools, and outerwear stacked on top of each other.
Can this pack carry ice axes or splitboard poles?
Yes, it includes splitboard poles and ice axe carry loops in addition to its diagonal or A-frame ski/splitboard carry and vertical snowboard carry. That combination makes the 22L suited to mixed backcountry days where you're switching between splitboard mode and boot-packing.
How does the hip belt work on longer tours?
The Poacher 22L uses a 38 mm padded hip belt with a side pocket and a reverse-pull waist belt, letting you cinch the load from the front without reaching around. The side pocket gives quick access to snacks or a phone without opening the main compartment.
Can I carry a helmet with this pack, and how does it attach?
Yes, it has a deployable helmet carry in a dual position setup, so you can mount the helmet in more than one spot depending on how the pack is loaded. That flexibility helps when the main compartment is already full of a shovel, tools, and splitboard poles.
How rugged is this pack's fabric?
It's made from 100% recycled high-density nylon, chosen for abrasion resistance against rocks, chairlifts, and repeated backcountry use. The snow-shedding molded back panel keeps the pack from soaking through, and a rescue whistle on the sternum strap adds a safety touch for backcountry days.
