I have a Burton board. Will the Aurora bindings mount on it?
Yes. The Aurora ships with a universal mounting disk compatible with 4x4, 2x4, and Burton's EST and Channel systems. No adapter required, just mount directly on any standard insert board or Burton Channel board.
Is the Aurora a women's-specific binding or just a smaller men's version?
The Aurora is a women's-specific binding with two sizes (S: US 5–8.5, M: US 9–11.5) mapped to women's boot sizing. The pair weighs 1.55 kg in size M, slightly lighter than the men's Orion at 1.64 kg. Sizing and padding are tuned for women's feet, not simply scaled-down men's components.
Is size S or M the right call for me?
Size S covers women's US boot sizes 5–8.5 (EU 35–39.5), size M covers 9–11.5 (EU 40–42.5). If you're exactly at the boundary (say, US 9), a comfort-focused rider can go S for a snugger hold. All-mountain riders tend to prefer M for a bit more adjustment range within the strap system.
What does the Flip-It strap system change about how the binding rides?
Flip-It lets you rotate the ankle strap between two positions: Freeride mode (wide half above the buckle) for more lateral support and board response, or Surf mode (wide half below) for more ankle flex and a looser feel. Bushings swap too: hard for Freeride, soft for Surf. The Aurora ships in Surf mode with soft bushings.
Is a 3/5 flex right for an intermediate-to-advanced woman riding all-mountain?
Yes. The Aurora's 3/5 flex sits in the middle: responsive enough for carves and freeride lines, playful enough to tweak and slash. It's not a beginner binding. If you want something more forgiving for learning or freestyle, look at the Equinox (2/5). The Aurora suits riders who want precision with a playful edge.
Will the straps and buckles hold up through a full season?
