Product Description

Built for anyone who just wants to ride, the General Public is Public's most accessible board yet. Alert Camber keeps you planted and lively underfoot, while tip-and-tail rocker adds forgiveness for slides, float in deep snow, and butter-ready presses. A smooth, predictable flex from nose to tail means you spend less time fighting the board and more time having fun. Available in the widest size run in PUBLIC's lineup.

Product Details

Rocker Type Alert Camber: a hybrid profile with regular camber between the feet for stability, liveliness, and response, combined with rocker at the tip and tail for forgiveness on rails, extra snap off the ground, added float in powder, and effortless presses
Flex 5 / 10
Shape Twin: symmetrical outline with centered, mirrored mounting holes for true twin feel in both directions
Core Poplar Core: 100% FCS certified poplar wood, delivering an unbeatable strength-to-weight ratio used across the majority of PUBLIC boards
Laminates Biax Glass: biaxial fiberglass layup that creates a consistent, smooth flex from tip to tail while keeping the board nimble and predictable
Sidewalls Urethane Sidewalls: superior dampening compared to standard ABS and P-Tex sidewalls, more durable against rock and rail impacts, and resistant to delamination
Base Sintered Base: manufactured by compressing polyethylene pellets under high pressure rather than extruding them, producing a more porous structure for maximum wax absorption, greater abrasion resistance, and a faster, more durable ride surface
Topsheet Graphic topsheet (design varies by colorway)

General Public Snowboard 2027 FAQ

Who is this board for, and what level do I need to be?

The General PUBLIC is built for everyone, from first-timer to intermediate riders. Its medium flex and hybrid profile (regular camber underfoot, rocker at tip and tail) make it forgiving on mistakes while still responsive enough to learn tricks. It excels at street and park, so if you're building fundamentals or just cruising, this is your daily driver.

What's the difference between camber and rocker?

The General PUBLIC uses Alert Camber: a positive camber strip between your feet and rocker on the tip and tail. That camber underfoot locks your edge in and snaps the board upward, while the rocker tips forgive flat landings, add float in deep snow, and let you press the tail effortlessly. You get snap and stability where you need them, flex where you don't.

How stiff should my board be, and what does flex actually change on snow?

Medium flex on the General PUBLIC means it responds to your weight without demanding perfect technique. Softer flex like this is more forgiving in the park, easier to butter and press, and gentler at slow speeds. You can learn without the board fighting you, but it still has enough pop to ollie and stay lively when you want to push speed on a groomed run.

What makes a base fast — extruded vs. sintered?

The General PUBLIC has a sintered base, made by crushing polyethylene pellets under extreme pressure. That creates a porous surface that soaks up more wax, slides faster than an extruded base, and lasts longer before needing replacement. You get speed out of the box and durability over time, so you can ride harder before the base gives up.

What do the fiberglass layers actually change?

Biaxial fiberglass wraps the core tip to tail on the General PUBLIC. It creates a smooth, consistent flex from end to end while keeping the torsional feel playful and predictable. You get dampening vibrations without stiffness, so carves feel clean without locking you into precision mode. It's playground-friendly.
