Surfer Snowboard 2027 FAQ
Who is this board for, and what level do I need to be?
The Surfer is built for intermediate to advanced riders hunting deep snow and natural features. It's a powder and freeride machine: directional shape with a high nose, setback inserts two and a half centimeters behind center, and a tapered tail. On the Surfer, this setup rewards riders who know how to position their weight backward to float effortlessly through untracked terrain.
Is this board good for powder?
The Surfer excels in powder. It combines a directional 3D shape, a nose that rises aggressively, and a special tail design that displaces snow for effortless planing. On the Surfer, you stay high and dry in deep snow without sinking, while the setback inserts lock your feet back so you're free to lean on the nose and stay planted.
How stiff should my board be, and what does flex actually change on snow?
The Surfer flexes at 4 out of 10: very soft and forgiving. A supple board soaks up impacts, turns easier at slow speeds, and pardons sloppy foot placement. On the Surfer, that softness means you carve and pivot with minimal effort, even in variable snow, but it sacrifices high-speed precision for playfulness and response in tight trees or moguls.
What do carbon stringers or carbon additives do for the ride?
The Surfer runs carbon fiber stringers strategically through the construction for explosive pop, quick edge response, and damping at high speed. On the Surfer, those carbon fibers store and release energy instantly, snapping you off flat spells and soaking vibrations when you rail it hard, without adding weight.
What makes a base fast? Extruded vs. sintered?
The Surfer uses a sintered, race-grade base: the same P-Tex formula competition ski racers choose. Sintered bases are denser, drink wax deeper, and slide faster. On the Surfer, you'll notice glide even without fresh wax, and when you do wax, the grip lasts longer before you need to touch it up again.
