What does binding flex change on snow?
The Zenith FASE is engineered with a stiff, carbon-injected highback and a high-density footbed designed for maximum power delivery. On this binding, that stiffness means every edge pressure you apply translates directly to the board with zero mushy feel. You get instant response on hard snow and carving, perfect for aggressive freeriding and high-speed terrain.
What is the highback for?
The AsymCore Carbon Highback is a stiff, carbon-injected component built to wrap your boot and transmit calf pressure straight to the heel edge. On the Zenith FASE, the extended upper wing and responsive asymmetric spine make heel-side turns snap into place as soon as you load the edge. You get direct control without dead travel, making it a weapon for carving and freeriding.
What does forward lean actually do?
Forward lean angles the highback closer to your boot, loading your knees into a deeper bend. On the Zenith FASE, it comes pre-loaded with aggressive forward lean, so heel-side initiation is instant and direct. You're always primed for responsive turns, though after a long day of hard charging, the extra bend can fatigue the calves. It's worth it for the control.
What does canting do?
Canting is a built-in 2–3 degree inward slope on the footbed that mirrors the natural angle of your legs when riding wide. On the Zenith FASE, the 3° cant is engineered into the ImpactCush+ Footbed to dial in turn response and reduce knee strain during hard all-mountain days. You feel more connected to the board without fighting your stance angle.
What's the difference between strap, step-in, and rear-entry bindings?
Strap bindings use traditional ratchet buckles for entry, step-in (Burton Step On) clips into boot cleats, and rear-entry (Flow) drops the whole back panel like a gate.
