The brand-new Transcend Core pairs ultralight Paulownia, Poplar, and Bamboo with full-length Bamboo Power Beams for explosive response, while Fairmat Carbon Amplifiers and Hybrid HolySheet Tri/Tri SuperCarbon fiberglass sharpen every edge engagement. Alpine V4 Directional camber delivers confident power across groomers, powder, and everything in between.

Product Details

Rocker Type Alpine V4 Directional: a new-for-26/27 profile with higher traditional camber through the mid-section, smooth and low tip and tail heights, slightly elevated contact points, and big-radius tip shapes. The geometry promotes powerful carving while allowing the tip and tail to flex freely into variable snow.
Flex 7 / 10
Shape Directional, 0.8" Setback
Sidecut Blended Radial: single-radius midsection with custom blend zones at the contact points for predictable turn initiation and a powerful, precise exit.
Core Transcend Core™: ultra-lightweight core (Paulownia, Poplar, Bamboo) enhanced with full-length Bamboo Power Beams™ running tip-to-tail for maximum power transfer and a lively, responsive flex. NEW for 26/27.
Laminates Hybrid HolySheet™ Tri/Tri SuperCarbon™: triaxial fiberglass on top and bottom of the core, interwoven with SuperCarbon™ additives for enhanced layup precision, increased strength, and measurable weight reduction · Magic Bean™ Resin: plant-based resin system with 60% bio-content from renewable agricultural sources, processed at lower temperatures for a poppy, powerful, and highly durable bond · 2 x 20 mm Fairmat™ Carbon Amplifiers: next-generation carbon amplifier strips placed for targeted stiffness, snap, and energy return. NEW for 26/27.
Base HyperDrive™ ADV XT: proprietary sintered base with high molecular mass and specialized processing aids for exceptional anti-friction glide. ADV XT version features increased thickness for greater edge durability. Die-cut base graphic.
Topsheet PLT Topsheet Technology™: CAPiTA's exclusive post-lamination bonding process that attaches the topsheet to an already-pressed board, yielding a featherlight, smooth, high-gloss finish without heavy lacquer. Metallic Screen + Gloss/Matte Print.

The Matriarch Wide Snowboard FAQ

What skill level is this board designed for?

The Matriarch Wide is built for advanced and expert riders. Everything about it reflects that: the directional shape with 0.8 inches of setback keeps your weight centered for confident carving and control, while the stiffer flex (7 out of 10) demands solid technique but rewards precise input. The profiling and construction are purpose-built for big-mountain riding, not for learning fundamentals.

Who should buy this board?

Riders hunting natural features and diverse snowpack across the whole mountain. The Matriarch Wide leans freeride and all-mountain: it loves powder and variable conditions, tracks straight on groomers with authority, and handles everything from backcountry transitions to in-bound laps. If you see the mountain as a playground with endless lines, not just a groomed trail, this is your machine.

What's new about this board, and why does that matter?

Two major innovations: the new Transcend Core uses ultra-lightweight wood (Paulownia, Poplar, Bamboo) threaded with full-length beams for maximum power and snap without dead weight. Paired with two 20mm carbon amplifiers running the length of the board, you get explosive pop and responsive edge-to-edge quickness. That stiffness and response justify the investment if you ride hard and demand immediate feedback.

What conditions does this board handle best?

Powder and variable terrain are where it shines: the low, smooth tip and tail float you easily over fresh snow, while the blended sidecut adapts to anything from chunked-up pow to icy hardpack. It crushes groomers with the same authority. Where it's less at home: jibbing and park tricks. This is a mountain machine, not a playground cruiser.

Is this board versatile, or is it built for one specific thing?

It's genuinely all-mountain versatile. The design targets freeride and natural features, but the construction (directional shape, stiff flex, refined profiling) works hard on groomers too. Terrain versatility and groomer scores are both maxed out. You're not locked into one terrain type, but you do need the skill and the riding style to unlock it.
