For the advanced freerider who has earned the right to ride it.
Product Details
| Rocker Type | Alpine V1 Directional with Flat Kick Technology: mid-body camber for pop and hardpack grip, a flat tail for powerful edge-to-edge transitions, and a reverse cambered nose with Wah-Pow! Flat Kick Technology for powder float and landing absorption. Camber runs longer in the tail for driven directional performance. |
| Flex | 6.5 / 10 |
| Shape | Directional with 0.8" setback stance |
| Sidecut | New Age Progressive with Death Grip: progressive sidecut incorporating a reverse sidecut arc in the midsection, adding a contact point to apply pressure and maintain control throughout the turn |
| Core | Thermopolymer Starship Core (no 3D): mega-premium, reforestation-certified Poplar graded by weight and grain consistency, with bonded post-consumer recycled Thermopolymer channels. Comparable to Paulownia in strength-to-weight ratio while retaining the poppiness of Poplar. |

Mega Death Snowboard 2027 FAQ
Is this board meant for beginners or do I need serious chops?
This is built for advanced riders only. The profile sits flat under your feet with a lifted nose and a lowered tail, paired with a stiff flex. On the Mega Death, that geometry demands precision in how you load and unload turns. It rewards technical ability but won't forgive sloppy stance or timing, so you need the skills to exploit what it offers.
Why does this board cost what it costs?
Three things justify the price. First: the core is ultralight certified poplar reinforced with recycled polymer channels that keep poppiness without weight. Second: full carbon fiber layup wrapped in marine-grade epoxy (not regular epoxy). Third: the base is high-carbon UHMW polyethylene treated with fluorine additives and stone-ground at a factory level. That's boutique-level material stacking.
What terrain does this board handle best?
Mega Death is a true all-mountain freeride tool. It carves groomers with precision thanks to the progressive sidecut and stiff flex. In powder it floats on the lifted nose and directional shape. On choppy or technical terrain, the reverse sidecut arc in the middle locks you into the turn for control. The one place it doesn't shine: park or jibs, where its stiffness and directional bias become liabilities.
How do I pick the right size for me?
Weight is the main factor. Each size covers a suggested range: the 156 is built for 130–190 lbs, the 162 for 150–210 lbs. The wider versions (W) boost nose and tail width without changing length, so if you're heavier or prefer stability, go wide. Your stance width should stay around 22 inches on smaller sizes, 23 on the larger ones. Take the size that matches your weight, then go wide if you want extra float or confidence.
Is this a one-trick pony or can I ride it everywhere?
It's genuinely versatile. The setback geometry and directional shape prioritize freeride and mountain riding, but the full carbon and stiff construction let you carve edges on groomed runs with real precision. Powder, steeps, groomers, technical snow—it all works. The trade-off: it's not park-friendly and won't excel in a terrain park where flex and maneuverability matter more.
