Product Details
| Rocker Type | CamRock 3-4-3: camber section through the middle (4mm) provides stability and pop; rocker in nose (3mm) and tail (3mm) elevates the tips for a more forgiving ride and improved float in powder |
| Flex | 6 / 10 |
| Shape | True Twin: symmetrical nose and tail for equal performance in both directions; ideal for freestyle and terrain park; 0mm setback; 0mm taper |
| Core | Flow Core: 100% Poplar wood, lightweight with consistent flex and energetic feel (flex and pop). Slightly denser than other woods, giving it a reputation for high durability |
| Laminates | Biax Glass: biaxial fiberglass with fibers running in two directions (length and width), balanced flex pattern, more forgiving and easier to control, enhances torsional flexibility for smoother turns and a playful, versatile riding experience |

Basic Snowboard 2027 FAQ
Is the Basic a beginner board, or can more experienced riders get something out of it?
The Basic is built for all levels. At 6/10 flex with a True Twin shape and CamRock profile, it's forgiving enough for newer riders but has enough edge hold and pop to satisfy intermediates and above. YES describes it as a freestyle board you can take anywhere — the philosophy being versatility over specialization, not watered-down performance.
Can I ride this switch, or is it mainly meant to go one direction?
The Basic is a True Twin with 0mm setback and identical nose and tail geometry. It's fully symmetrical, so switch riding is just as comfortable as regular. No quirks or penalties riding in either direction.
Will the Basic hold an edge on hard snow, or will it wash out when I push it?
Edge grip is one of the Basic's strong points. The UnderBite sidecut pulls the edge inward at the binding area with two inlay insertion points, acting like a gas pedal under your feet. This concentrates cutting power right where you apply pressure, giving the Basic noticeably better edge engagement than a standard sidecut design on similar-price boards.
How will the Basic handle in powder or soft snow?
The CamRock 3-4-3 profile gives the Basic 3mm of rocker in both nose and tail. That tips the tips up enough to help the board float and stay surfacey in soft snow, without killing the pop and stability you get from the camber section in the middle. It's not a dedicated pow board, but it won't sink either.
How often will I need to wax and maintain the base?
The Basic runs a sintered Ptex base, which absorbs wax more deeply than an extruded base and holds it longer. You'll wax less frequently than on a budget board with an extruded base, and sintered material is more resistant to scratching. Regular waxing every 5 to 10 days on snow is still recommended to keep the glide optimal.
I'm between two lengths — which one should I go with?
Check the rider weight ranges in the size table first: they're the most reliable guide. If you're at the overlap between two sizes, the shorter one suits park and freestyle (easier to spin, more playful), the longer one suits all-mountain and speed (more stability and float). The Basic's True Twin shape means neither direction penalizes you in any particular condition.
