Product Description
Engineered for the weight-obsessed backcountry rider, the Spark R&D Ibex ST Pro sheds 30% compared to the standard Ibex ST by swapping in a machined 7075 aluminum body that stays just as tough but cuts through snow with less drag. An ST Tech overmolded thermoplastic axle snaps in effortlessly and pivots with zero friction. The dual-width nesting design keeps your pack tight. The lightest split crampon in the world, per Spark R&D.

Ibex St Pro Crampons - Black/Copper FAQ
Will the Ibex ST Pro crampons work with my Spark bindings?
The Ibex ST Pro is compatible with all Tesla and T1 bindings from Spark R&D. If your bindings use the Tesla or T1 system, these crampons install directly with no adapter needed.
How do I know which size to get for my board?
Size is based on your board's waist width. Narrow fits boards 25 cm or less, Regular fits 25 to 26 cm (most boards), and Wide fits 26 cm or more. When in doubt, measure your board's waist at the narrowest point.
How much lighter are these than the standard Ibex ST?
The Ibex ST Pro is 30% lighter than the standard Ibex ST, coming in at 120g per crampon (240g per pair in Regular). The weight savings come from a 7075 aluminum body and an overmolded thermoplastic axle, replacing heavier construction used in the standard version.
Is the 7075 aluminum body actually strong enough for aggressive touring terrain?
Yes. 7075 aluminum is the same high-strength alloy used in aerospace and high-end binding hardware. It's thinner and lighter than standard crampon bodies but maintains the strength needed for technical skin track use, including full crampon engagement without a whammy bar.
How easy are these to install and carry?
Installation is tool-free thanks to the overmolded thermoplastic axle, which snaps in with a smooth rotation. For storage, the dual-width design (one crampon slightly wider than the other) lets them nest together compactly in your pack between uses.
Do these work without the whammy bar engaged?
Yes. The Ibex ST Pro delivers full crampon engagement with or without the whammy bar, so you get reliable grip on ice and hard pack regardless of your heel lift position during the climb.
