Can I actually use these year-round, or are they just ski poles?
The Swift Stick is built as a true dual-season pole. The 7075 aluminum shaft adjusts from 110 to 130 cm via the Flipjaw mechanism, and the 95mm powder basket handles both deep snow and hard-packed terrain. In summer, fold it down to four pieces and it works as a trekking pole. One pole for both seasons.
How does the length adjustment work, and will it stay locked while I'm pushing hard?
The Flipjaw Adjustment Mechanism connects a narrower upper shaft to a larger-diameter lower shaft. The larger lower section is notably more durable, and the Flipjaw clamp locks the two diameters together firmly. The system covers 110–130 cm of range and is designed to hold under backcountry and touring loads.
Will these collapse small enough to fit in a pack or on a backpack?
Yes. The Swift Stick breaks down into four pieces, making it compact enough to strap to a pack or stow in a larger bag. The Flipjaw system is what enables that four-piece fold-down, so there's no separate mechanism to manage.
Is there anything on these that helps me assess slope angle in the backcountry?

What size do I get? Is this truly one-size-fits-all?
The Swift Stick adjusts from 110 to 130 cm, which covers most adult skiers and hikers. There's only one SKU, so as long as your ideal pole length falls within that 20 cm range, you're covered. If you typically need poles shorter than 110 cm or longer than 130 cm, this one won't reach your sweet spot.
Why 7075 aluminum instead of carbon? Is it strong enough for aggressive use?
7075 is aircraft-grade aluminum, one of the strongest alloy grades used in outdoor gear. It's heavier than carbon but significantly more impact-resistant, which matters on a collapsible touring pole that sees repeated assembly, falls, and variable terrain. For backcountry and mixed-season use, the durability trade-off is intentional.
