Product Description
Karl Fostvedt's namesake ski was built for riders who live between the park and the backcountry. Spectral Braid variable-angle reinforcement delivers hyper-maneuverable precision, while Pop Lock Carbon and Carbon Boost Braid layer in the snap and rebound needed for big-air takeoffs and deep landings. The Powder Twin Rocker floats tip and tail for maximum versatility in soft snow. For advanced and expert skiers who charge hard on their own terms.

Reckoner Kf Skis 2027 FAQ
What kind of skier is the Reckoner KF built for — is it a park ski or a powder ski?
The Reckoner KF is Karl Fostvedt's pro model and sits at the freestyle/freeride crossover: big air, park features, and powder landings. The 114mm waist and Powder Twin Rocker (high, long rise tip and tail) give it float in deep snow, while the twin shape lets you ride switch and hit park. It's not a dedicated groomer ski or a specialized deep-powder tool.
What length should I get for my height and weight?
The Reckoner KF comes in 177, 184, and 191 cm. As a wide twin with a 23m turn radius at 184 cm, it skis large. Most riders use height as the starting point (chin to top of head for playful, above head for more stability and pop), then adjust for weight. Heavier or stronger skiers benefit from the 184 or 191 for the added mass underfoot on big landings.
How stiff is this ski — will it feel like a plank or will it be responsive?
The Reckoner KF sits at a 7 on K2's 1–10 stiffness scale. That's a medium-firm flex, stiff enough for big sends and confident landings but not so rigid it punishes mistakes. The Spectral Braid construction provides variable torsion tuned along the ski's length, giving lively, energetic response rather than a dead, uniform plank feel.
What does the Spectral Braid construction actually do differently from regular fiberglass?
Spectral Braid is K2's variable-angle fiber reinforcement: the fiber orientation changes along the length of the ski rather than running at a fixed angle. This allows K2 to tune torsion and flex differently across tip, body, and tail. The result is a ski that's hyper-maneuverable through tight spots while remaining stable and composed at speed on big terrain.
Does it come with bindings, or do I need to buy and mount those separately?
The Reckoner KF is a flat ski (no binding included). You'll need to purchase bindings separately and have them mounted by a shop technician. There is no integrated binding system on this model.
Will a 114mm waist feel sluggish on hard-packed groomers, or can I still carve?
At 114mm underfoot and a 23m radius at 184 cm, the Reckoner KF is not a groomer-first ski. The Powder Twin Rocker lifts the tip and tail significantly, which reduces edge contact on hard snow and makes laid-out carves harder to initiate. It's capable on groomers for linking turns between features, but if you spend most of your time on hardpack, a narrower ski would serve you better.
Is flax in the construction a gimmick, or does it actually change how the ski rides?
Uni-Directional Flax is a natural fiber used in the Reckoner KF's layup. Flax is known for its damping properties: it absorbs vibration more effectively than fiberglass at equivalent weight. On a big-mountain freestyle ski, that translates to improved tracking and composure in variable or chopped-up snow, reducing the chattering that unsettles a ski mid-flight or on rough runouts.
