Le Mono Skis 2027 FAQ
What exactly is a monoboard ski, and how does it ride differently from regular skis?
Le Mono is a single-plank ski you ride with both feet on one board, like a snowboard but on ski edges. It is part of Faction's Outcast Series, a throwback to freeskiing's retro era. The symmetrical twin shape and flat camber (0 mm) keep the ride loose and surfy, making it more of a novelty and fun experience than a performance tool.
What skill level do I need to ride Le Mono?
Le Mono has a flex of 8 on Faction's scale, which is on the stiffer end. More importantly, riding a monoboard requires existing ski confidence since your feet are bound together. It is not for beginners. Intermediate to advanced skiers comfortable on groomed terrain and relaxed off-piste will get the most out of it.
Will I be able to turn this thing, or is it awkward to maneuver?
The Elliptical Sidecut gives Le Mono a 24 m radius (182 cm) or 26 m radius (190 cm), which is quite long, so it is not built for tight carving. The flat camber (0 mm) and extended tip and tail rocker make it easy to pivot and smear rather than carve hard angles. Wide, sweeping turns are its natural mode.
What sizes does Le Mono come in?
Le Mono is available in two lengths: 182 cm (waist 188 mm, 3400 g per ski) and 190 cm (waist 192 mm, 3500 g per ski). Both have a 455 mm tip rocker and 40 mm tail rocker. Pick the shorter one if you want a more responsive, playful ride; the longer one adds stability at speed.
Do bindings come included with Le Mono?
No bindings are included. Le Mono ships as a flat ski and requires separate binding purchase and mounting. Given the unusual setup, it is worth discussing mounting options with a shop technician to confirm binding compatibility for the two-foot stance.
