Product Description
The Studio Grom FS is Faction's full-send twin-tip built from the ground up for junior park progression. A Lightweight Poplar Core keeps things lively and poppy while Carbon Stringers add torsional stiffness without weighing young legs down. Rocker in the tip and tail floats through butters and landings; camber underfoot snaps into turns and delivers rebound when it counts. Built for the grom who is done messing around and ready to lap the park.
Product Details
| Rocker Type | Tip and tail rocker sections (215–250 mm tip, 190–225 mm tail depending on length) with 2.5 mm camber underfoot — rocker keeps butters loose and landings forgiving while the camber zone delivers edge engagement and pop for ollies and hits |
| Flex | 6 / 10 |
| Shape / Sidecut | Symmetrical Twin Tip with Elliptical Sidecut — perfectly mirrored tip and tail for uninhibited switch riding; elliptical geometry places a longer radius underfoot for quick pivoting and shorter radii at tip and tail for easy turn initiation across a range of angles and stances |
| Core | Lightweight Poplar Core: poplar wood formulated in an ultra-light version for the Studio Grom series, energetic flex and pop with good vibration damping |
| Laminates | Carbon Stringers: 8–12 unidirectional carbon bands per side woven into the fiberglass, running the full length of the ski for torsional rigidity and longitudinal stability without added weight |
| Sidewalls | Anti-Chip Micro-Cap: hybrid construction with sandwich sidewall underfoot for edge hold and torsional stability, tip and tail cap wrap protecting the vulnerable topsheet joint from chipping |
| Edges | XL 2.2 mm edges, reinforced steel for increased impact resistance and extended durability, tuned for junior usage |
| Binding Compatibility | 3.6 x 7 mm drill pattern |
| Topsheet | Corund Topsheet |

Studio Grom Fs Skis 2027 FAQ
My kid wants to get into park and halfpipe — is the Grom FS built for that?
Yes. The Studio Grom FS is Faction's youth park and halfpipe twin-tip. Its symmetrical twin shape (identical tip and tail dimensions) means it rides the same forward and switch, which is essential for pipe and jib tricks. At 81 mm underfoot and a flex of 6, it is light, responsive, and forgiving enough for young skiers learning their first features.
What's the difference between the Grom FS and the Grom FR?
The Studio Grom FS is a symmetrical twin (81 mm waist, flex 6) tuned for park and halfpipe: shorter turn radii, balanced tip-to-tail for switch riding, and a micro-cap construction on the tips to resist chipping on rails. The Studio Grom FR is a directional twin (93 mm waist, flex 7) designed for all-mountain freeride. Pick FS for the park; pick FR for exploring the whole mountain.
Are these tough enough for rails and boxes, or will they get damaged quickly?
The Grom FS uses XL 2.2 mm edges (vs. 2.0 mm standard) and an Anti-Chip Micro-Cap construction at the tip and tail. The micro-cap means the topsheet wraps around and bonds to the sidewall at the ends — the area most prone to splitting on rail impacts. Carbon Stringers add torsional stiffness without extra weight, keeping the ski responsive after repeated hits.
What sizes come in the Grom FS, and how do I pick the right one?
The Studio Grom FS comes in 136 cm, 144 cm, and 152 cm. For park and pipe, a slightly shorter ski is generally better: it is easier to spin, pop, and maneuver on features. A ski that reaches chin height or just below is a common starting point. Lighter or newer park skiers lean toward the shorter end; taller, stronger, or faster-progressing kids can size up.
Do bindings come included?
No, the Studio Grom FS ships as a flat ski. Bindings are sold separately and need to be mounted. The drill spec is 3.6 x 7 mm, compatible with standard youth ski bindings. Have your shop verify binding compatibility with your child's boot sole length and DIN range.
