Product Description

The Elliptical Sidecut opens up a wide range of turn shapes from edge-locked carves to effortless pivots, while the Carbon/Rubber Stomp Pad keeps landings planted and vibration-free. Three mounting positions let you dial in the feel from centered and playful to classically stable. For intermediate-to-advanced skiers who want one ski for every terrain.

Product Details

Rocker Type Mustache Flex profile: tip rocker / camber underfoot / tail rocker. Stable zones in front of and behind the binding for edge hold, with progressive flex in tip and tail for smooth bump absorption and easier turn entry and exit.
Flex 6 / 10
Shape / Sidecut Directional Twin: tail significantly narrower than the tip for optimal downhill performance, with a twin-tip tail for freestyle attitude and easy switch skiing. Elliptical Sidecut: award-winning elliptical geometry with a longer radius underfoot for quick, easy pivoting, and shorter radii in the tip and tail for intuitive turn initiation. Supports a wide variety of turn lengths, edge angles, and binding positions.
Core Poplar Core: lightweight poplar wood that flexes and pops with excellent vibration absorption. Used as the sole wood in this core, it delivers pop, butter, and stomping capability across all terrain with impressive torsional stability on the descent.
Edges XL 2.5mm Edges: 25% thicker than standard 2.0 mm edges, providing greater impact resistance and extended service life.
Stomp Pad Carbon/Rubber Stomp Pad: 600 mm long by 15 mm wide, positioned underfoot above the edge. Protects the core from rail impacts; the carbon-and-rubber combination adds stability and vibration absorption directly under the boot.
Sidewalls Full Strength Sidewall: protective material running the full length of the core between the edge and topsheet. Delivers better edge hold and turn stability while shielding the core, edges, and topsheet from impacts.
Topsheet Matt Topsheet: matte finish.
Binding Compatibility Three mounting positions: Newschool (+3 cm) for a centered twin-tip feel and maximum playfulness; Progressive (+1.5 cm) for a balance of carving power and freestyle versatility; Classic (factory line) for optimal stability, edge hold, and float in deeper snow. Drill: 4.1 x 9 mm.

Prodigy 2 Skis 2027 FAQ

I ski groomers most of the time but want to butter, pop, and explore the whole mountain — is the Prodigy 2 the right ski?

Yes. The Prodigy 2 is Faction's best-selling all-mountain ski with park DNA. Its 98 mm waist keeps it quick and precise on groomers, while the poplar core and Mustache Flex pattern deliver the butter and pop you need for creative riding. The Directional Twin shape handles switch riding too. Intermediate to advanced freeskiers who want one versatile ski for everything will feel right at home on it.

What is Mustache Flex and why does it matter?

Mustache Flex is Faction's progressive flex pattern on the Prodigy 2. The zones directly in front and behind the binding are stiffer for edge hold and stability in carving. The tip and tail are progressively softer, which absorbs small bumps and debris rather than transmitting every vibration to your legs. The result is a ski that holds a clean edge and still butters easily at slow speed.

What mounting position should I use?

The Prodigy 2 offers three positions. Newschool (+3 cm forward of factory) centers your stance for maximum playfulness and symmetrical twin feel — best for freestyle and buttering. Progressive (+1.5 cm) is the sweet spot between park creativity and carving power. Classic (factory line) gives optimal stability, edge hold, and float in deeper snow. Intermediate riders often start at Progressive.

Will the ski core survive rails and park features?

The Carbon/Rubber Stomp Pad — a 600 mm long, 15 mm wide reinforcement strip placed underfoot above the edge — protects the poplar core from impact on rails and absorbs vibration under your boots. XL 2.5 mm edges (25% thicker than standard 2.0 mm) and a Full Strength Sidewall running the full length add further protection and extend the ski's lifespan in park conditions.

What sizes does the Prodigy 2 come in?

The Prodigy 2 is available in 159 cm (1600 g/ski), 165 cm (1660 g/ski), 171 cm (1750 g/ski), 177 cm (1810 g/ski), 183 cm (1860 g/ski), and 189 cm (1950 g/ski). For an all-mountain freestyle ski, chin to nose height is a common reference. Lighter or more park-focused riders size down; taller, heavier, or speed-oriented riders go longer.

Do bindings come included?

No, the Prodigy 2 is a flat ski. Bindings are sold and mounted separately. The drill spec is 4.1 x 9 mm, compatible with standard adult alpine bindings.
