Product Description

The Attack 14 GW is Tyrolia's all-terrain freeride binding for expert skiers who tear through powder, carve piste, and stomp park in a single session. The FR PRO3 Toe ensures consistent release values regardless of terrain, while the three-piece NX FR Heel puts quick DIN adjustment within reach in any position. GripWalk Compatible for both alpine and walk boots, with AFD height tuning to lock in your boot-binding system.

Product Details

Toe Piece FR PRO3 Toe: delivers constant release values and adjusts to different boot sole heights via the revised, height-adjustable AFD. Height must be verified with the boot height adjustment tester (test strip).
Heel Piece NX FR Heel: three-piece construction enabling quick DIN adjustment in both open and closed position.
Boot Compatibility GripWalk Compatible: accepts adult alpine ski boots (ISO 5355 Type A) and adult walk ski boots (ISO 23223 Type A). The AFD height must be set to the boot sole height and verified with the boot height adjustment tester (test strip) before use. Note: this model is GripWalk Compatible, not GripWalk A: AFD sole-height calibration is required.

Attack 14 Gw Ski Bindings - Grey 2027 FAQ

My boots have GripWalk soles — do I need to adjust anything when mounting these?

Yes, unlike the LYT line. The Attack 14 GW uses the FR PRO3 Toe with an adjustable AFD (Anti-Friction Device), and its height must be set to your boot's sole height using a boot height adjustment tester (test strip). A certified shop must perform this during mounting to ensure correct release values. Skipping this step compromises both safety and binding performance.

Is DIN 4-14 the right range for an expert skier?

Yes. Tyrolia rates the Attack 14 GW at Expert level, built for high-performance skiers who need maximum retention at speed and on steep terrain. The 4–14 range covers heavy, aggressive, and advanced riders who would hit the ceiling on lower-rated bindings. If your calculated DIN sits at 10 or above, this is the appropriate binding.

How do I choose among the five brake widths (85, 95, 110, 130, 150 mm)?

Match the brake to your ski's waist width. Choose a brake equal to or slightly wider than the waist, but no more than roughly 15 mm wider. The 85–95 mm options suit narrower all-mountain and piste skis; 110 mm works for wider all-mountain setups; 130–150 mm covers wide freeride and powder skis. A brake too narrow won't deploy cleanly after a fall.

Is this a park binding or a freeride binding?

Both. Tyrolia classifies the Attack 14 GW under Freestyle/Freeride and describes it as built for any terrain, from powder and piste to park and beyond. The Expert DIN ceiling and robust Attack-series construction make it equally suited for hard alpine skiing and aggressive freeride terrain, not just park use.

Can I use these with touring or AT boots?

No. The Attack 14 GW accepts adult Alpine (ISO 5355 Type A) and adult Walk/GripWalk (ISO 23223 Type A) boots only. It does not support the touring norm (ISO 9523). For backcountry use with tech-insert touring boots, look at the Attack Hybrid 14 MN/PT instead.

What does the three-piece heel do, and does it make stepping in easier?

The NX FR Heel uses a three-piece design that Tyrolia describes as enabling easy entry and exit. The optimized heel also allows quick DIN adjustment in both open and closed positions, so you can fine-tune your release setting in the field without tools or full binding removal.

Will the 17 mm stand height feel balanced underfoot?

At 17 mm, the Attack 14 GW sits at the lower end of the Attack family's stack heights and is in line with most standard all-mountain alpine bindings. It should not feel unusually elevated compared to a typical resort setup. Tyrolia does not publish a ramp angle for this model.
