Strive 12 Gw Ski Bindings - Redwood 2027 FAQ
My boots have GripWalk soles — will these bindings work with them safely?
Yes. The Strive 12 GW is certified for both Alpine ISO 5355 and GripWalk ISO 23223 soles. The Auto GripWalk Compatible system adapts automatically, so you don't need an adapter plate for GripWalk boots.
What DIN range does the Strive 12 cover — is it right for my weight and level?
The Strive 12 GW covers DIN 4 to 12, suitable for skiers weighing 49 to 120 kg (108 to 264 lbs). It's well-matched to intermediate through advanced all-mountain skiers. If you're at the very top of that weight range skiing aggressively, the DIN ceiling of 12 is workable but snug.
Which brake width do I need for my skis?
The Strive 12 GW is available with L90, L100, or L115 brakes depending on colorway. Match the brake width to your ski's waist: aim for a brake that clears the ski by 0 to 15 mm. Check the waist width of your ski before ordering.
How much do these bindings weigh?
930 g per binding (pair = approx. 1,860 g). The Light Construction and 3-Part Heel Light keep the weight down for an all-mountain binding at this DIN level.
Do these need to be mounted by a certified technician, or can I do it myself?
Like all alpine bindings, the Strive 12 GW must be mounted and DIN-set by a certified ski technician. The forward pressure and release values need to be calibrated to your weight, height, boot sole length, and ability level. This isn't a DIY job.
Are the brakes lockable if I need to carry the skis?
Yes. The Strive 12 GW includes Locking Brakes, so you can lock them in the raised position when carrying or storing your skis.
