Slain Mag Cyl Goggles - Burnout/Gold FAQ

How fast is the magnetic lens change, and does it actually stay secure while riding?

The Magnetic Quick-change Lens System uses magnetic attachment points to seat the lens in place. Swapping takes seconds with no tools or clips. Dragon describes the attachment as fast and secure, keeping the lens seated during riding, impacts, and wind. The included bonus lens means your second tint is ready to swap right out of the box.

I wear glasses. Can I use the Slain Mag Cyl as an OTG goggle?

Yes. The Slain Mag Cyl is listed as OTG compatible in the Dragon catalog, with temple arm cut-outs in the face foam so your glasses slide in without the frame pressing on the arms. It's a medium-fit goggle, best suited for medium-sized faces. If you have a larger face, the D1 OTG 2 in large fit may be a better match.

What does the Panotech lens actually change compared to a regular goggle lens?

The Premium Injected Panotech™ Lens uses Dragon's patented toric base curvature engineered to match the maximum range of human peripheral vision, up to 220 degrees left to right. The injection-molded construction delivers optical-grade clarity across the full surface. In practice, you get fewer blind spots and better spatial awareness compared to a flat or basic cylindrical lens.

Does the venting actually prevent fogging in wet or heavy snow?

The Mesh Armored Venting provides consistent unidirectional airflow through a durable mesh-style armored vent built to handle precipitation. The mesh design also makes it easy to clear any snow that packs in during heavy snowfall. A Super Anti-Fog Coating on the inner lens acts as a second line of defense, addressing condensation directly at the source.

Should I go for a Photochromic lens or a fixed tint on the Slain Mag Cyl?

Photochromic lenses adjust automatically: Photochromic Clear ranges from 16 to 80% VLT and Photochromic Yellow from 16 to 72%, covering bright sun to flat light in a single lens. Fixed tints are better if you ride in consistent conditions and want to optimize for one specific light level. With the magnetic system, swapping your bonus lens for a different fixed tint takes seconds anyway.

A bonus lens comes in the box. How do I actually use it?

Every Slain Mag Cyl ships with a second Lumalens® tint pre-paired to the colorway: Blackout gets Midnight plus Violet, Steel Blue gets Silver Ion plus Amber, Burnout gets Gold Ion plus Amber. The Magnetic Quick-change System makes swapping take seconds before you head to the lift. Two distinct light conditions are covered from day one, no extra purchase needed.

Why does the Slain Mag Cyl cost $220? What makes it worth more than a budget goggle?

Three upgrades drive the price: the Premium Injected Panotech™ Lens for up to 220 degrees of peripheral field of view, the Magnetic Quick-change System for tool-free lens swaps in seconds, and Mesh Armored Venting built to handle precipitation without clogging. The full Lumalens® coating stack (anti-fog, oleophobic, hydrophobic, hard coat) and an included bonus lens complete the package.
