Crab Grab’s Slap Mitt is a mid-weight everyday essential built for all-day grip and weather resistance. Hand Sandwich Construction™ concentrates insulation at the back of the hand where heat loss runs highest, while Full Crunch Grip™ silicone palms keep your board under control. A 15K Dry-Claw Hipora® membrane and PFAS-free DWR hold out the elements. Refined with Benny Milam, available in a unisex slip-on fit from XS to XL.

How waterproof are the Slap Mitts?
The Slap Mitt uses the 15K Dry-Claw Hipora membrane: a Crab Grab customized 3-layer waterproof breathable barrier. Its microporous structure blocks liquid water while letting sweat vapor escape, so your hands stay dry from both outside and inside. The shell also carries a PFAS Free DWR coating for added surface repellency.
How easy is the slip-on entry on the Slap Mitt?
The Slap Mitt is built around an easy slip-on entry with no tight wrist buckles or complicated closure to wrestle with. You slip them on and go. It's the core design brief for this model, tuned in collaboration with Benny Milam as an everyday essential that's quick to get on and off throughout a full day of riding.
What makes the Slap Mitt palms so grippy?
The palms use Full Crunch Grip construction: silicone-injected microfiber that Crab Grab describes as incredibly grippy and durable. Under the palm surface, Sure-Grip Resin Enhanced Palm Insulation adds another layer of grip with resin-treated insulation. Together they give the Slap Mitt noticeably more palm traction than a standard mitt.
How durable are the Slap Mitts for daily park and mountain use?
The top panel uses AX Laredo material, developed as a direct alternative to goat leather with exceptional durability. The shell is heavy-duty woven nylon: 2-layer, laminated, high-denier, and BLUESIGN approved. The Microfiber Thumb Back Panel is tougher than the industry-standard flocked suede. The Slap Mitt is built to take daily abuse.
Can I wipe my nose or clean my goggle lens with the Slap Mitt thumb?
