Lapper Snow Pants - Dark Green FAQ
Is the Lapper Pant true to size or should I size down?
The Lapper is built with an Extra Baggy Fit and Relaxed Rise, Volcom's roomiest cut for pants. If you prefer a fitted look, consider sizing down from your usual number. If you like to layer underneath or ride in an oversized style, your regular size will give you plenty of room.
How waterproof are these pants?
They're rated 10,000mm waterproof and 10,000gm² breathability, with Critical Taped Seams sealing the stitch lines. That's a solid everyday all-mountain rating, enough to sit in wet snow on the chairlift or push through steady snowfall without soaking through over a full day.
Does the fabric differ depending on the colorway I pick?
Yes. The Black (BOD) colorway uses V-Science Recycled Denim with PFAS-free DWR, while the Dark Green (DGN) colorway uses V-Science Recycled Work Oxford with the same DWR treatment. Both are part of the same construction system, so waterproof performance is equivalent even though the weave and look differ.
Will these hold up if I'm sliding rails or falling a lot?
The Lapper has a Triple Reinforced Rise, the seat and crotch area that takes the most stress from falls, sliding, and repeated sitting. That's the spot that wears out first on cheaper pants, so reinforcing it there specifically targets where damage actually happens on the hill.
Do these pants keep snow out of my boots?
Yes. The Boot Gaiter with Lace Hook hooks onto your boot laces to keep the pant cuff cinched down over your boot, blocking snow from working its way in during deep powder, falls, or hiking, rather than relying on the pant hem alone to stay in place.
Can I zip these to a matching jacket?
Yes. The Lapper has a Zip Tech Pant to Jacket Interface that connects directly to a compatible Volcom jacket, sealing the gap around your waist so snow and cold air can't get between the two layers, which matters most during falls or deep powder days.
