Are these pants actually waterproof, or just water resistant?
This jacket is genuinely waterproof, not just water resistant. The 2.5 ply flat weave fabric runs a 15K/15K waterproof/breathable membrane, seams are fully taped, and the PFC free DWR finish sheds moisture on the surface before it can soak through.
Will the collar feel scratchy or cold against my neck?
No. The stand collar is lined with brushed tricot, a soft, napped fabric, so it sits comfortably against your skin instead of the raw shell fabric, and it also helps seal in warmth when you zip all the way up.
Will the hood fit over my helmet and stay put in wind?
The hood adjusts with bungee and toggle cords, so you can cinch it down for a snug fit over a helmet or loosen it for bare-head wear, and lock in coverage without it blowing back in gusty conditions.
Can water leak in through the front zipper?
No. The center front zipper is a YKK waterproof zipper, built with a coated tape that blocks water at the zipper line itself, one of the more common leak points on a shell jacket.
Will the cuffs stay sealed over my gloves while riding?
The cuffs are covered elastic with velcro adjustments, so you can cinch them down snugly over gloves and lock that fit in place, keeping snow and cold air from working up your sleeves.
