Is the Parachute pant warm enough for cold days, or do I need base layers?
It has a thermal grid micro fleece lining built in, so it runs warmer than a plain shell pant on its own. You can still layer underneath for very cold days, but this pant already brings its own insulation instead of being a bare, unlined shell.
Will I be able to move freely in this pant, or is it stiff and baggy?
The 2 ply flat weave dry fabric has mechanical stretch built in, so even with the roomy parachute silhouette you get give through the knees and hips for squats, kicks, and riding stances rather than fighting a rigid fabric.
How do I vent if I get too warm while hiking or riding?
There's a large YKK conceal zipper vent backed with branded mesh, unzip it to dump heat quickly on a bootpack or warm day, then zip it closed again once you're back on snow or moving fast.
Is the Parachute pant actually waterproof?
Yes. It carries a 15K/15K waterproof/breathable membrane with fully taped seams and a PFC free DWR finish, the same technical waterproofing tier as a dedicated shell pant, just paired here with a fleece-lined, insulated build.
Will the cuffs fit over my boots and stay in place while riding?
The cuffs adjust with bungee, toggle, and a lace hook, so you can cinch them down snug over your boots and lock that fit in, keeping snow out and the cuff from riding up during a session.
