Product Description
Built for riders who push deep into untracked terrain, the Jones Solution Splitboard pairs a directional Camber/Rocker profile with a medium-tapered shape that grips hard on the descent and floats with ease in deep snow. A dual-density Ultra Split Core and Bcomp Carbon Flax Stringer deliver the pop and stability needed for steep lines and long traverses. The all-conditions choice for expert backcountry freeriders.
Product Details
| Profile | Directional Camber / Rocker: camber underfoot delivers powerful edge grip and explosive response; rocker at the nose ensures smooth turn initiation, powder float, and maneuverability in tight terrain |
| Flex | 4 / 5 (Mid-Stiff) |
| Shape | Directional with medium taper; long sidecut for stability at speed |
| Core | Ultra Split Core: Paulownia + Poplar (2:1) dual-density woodcore, lightweight, damp, and durable; splitboard-specific construction |
| Laminates | Triax Fiberglass: triple-layer, multi-axis fiberglass for mid-stiff torsional flex, precise and powerful in variable conditions · Bcomp Carbon Flax Stringer: carbon + flax stringer developed with Swiss engineer Bcomp; carbon delivers pop, flax absorbs vibrations and reduces CO₂ vs an all-carbon stringer |
| Base | Sintered 9900 Base: high-performance sintered base with carbon additives for speed, durability, and wax absorption, made in Austria · Flip-Flop Base: manufactured in two base colors to minimize P-Tex waste |
| Topsheet | Textured Eco Topsheet: eco topsheet with surface texture |
| Sidewalls | Recycled ABS: 100% recycled ABS sidewalls with a rounded finish to reduce chipping |
| Edges | Recycled Edges: recycled German steel edges for robust durability |
| Epoxy | Durabond Bio-Epoxy [27]: bio-sourced epoxy with 27% plant-based carbon; 33% lower CO₂ vs conventional petrochemical epoxy |
| Shape Tech | High 3D Contour Base: 7 mm spoon bevel at the nose (0–7 mm at the tail) reduces friction at the tips · Boltless Bridge: woodcore reshaped under the split clips eliminates clip hardware from the base, improving torsion and clip connection strength · High Traction Tech: serrations along the running length add multiple edge contact points for grip on icy skin tracks and traverses |
| Split Clips | Karakoram Ultra Clips 2.0: lighter with a stronger grip and a reduced footprint vs 1.0; adjustable · Karakoram Tip-Lock Tip Clips 2.0: single-lever lock closes in one motion and holds firm all season |
Solution Splitboard 2027 FAQ
What makes the Solution the ultimate all-terrain splitboard?
The Men's Solution combines mid-stiff flex (4/5), Triax Fiberglass (triple-layer, multi-axis), Bcomp Carbon Flax Stringer, and a Sintered 9900 Base with carbon additives, the fastest sintered base in the Jones splitboard lineup. A long sidecut provides stability at speed while medium taper (12 to 14 mm) ensures float in deep snow. It is built to cover steep couloirs, open powder descents, and everything in between.
How does the Sintered 9900 Base differ from the Sintered 8000 on other Jones splitboards?
The Sintered 9900 is an upgrade: it adds carbon additives to the sintered P-Tex formula, increasing both speed and wax absorption. Made in Austria for tight quality control, it responds to waxing more aggressively and glides faster on runouts and powder traverses than a standard Sintered 8000. The Men's Solution is the only splitboard in the Jones lineup to receive the 9900 base material.
What clip system does the Solution use and will my touring bindings work?
The Solution uses Karakoram Ultra Clips 2.0: lighter, with a tighter clamp and smaller footprint than the original 1.0. Any splitboard binding compatible with Karakoram pucks mounts for ride mode. The Boltless Bridge reinforces the clip connection zone by thickening the woodcore under the clips, delivering better torsional stiffness and a more durable clip-to-board interface over the board's lifespan.
How does skin attachment work on the Solution Splitboard?
Each size comes with a pre-cut skin (letter codes B, D, E, F, G, or H depending on size) and a trim spec (M or L). The skins are shaped to fit each specific board length so no trimming is needed. Skin tail attachment uses a standard tail clip (the Solution does not list a Quick Tension Tail in its tech stack, unlike the Stratos Split).
Is the Solution suitable for advanced riders or expert-only?
The Solution's mid-stiff (4/5) flex and long-sidecut stability are most rewarding for experienced to expert splitboarders who push varied backcountry terrain at speed. A confident advanced rider with solid off-piste skills can absolutely ride it, but they will need to apply real pressure to flex the board on soft, variable snow. It rewards powerful, committed riding across all conditions.
Are there Wide sizes available for riders with US boot 11+?
Yes. Wide (W) options include 159W (waist 26.3 cm), 162W (26.3 cm), 165W (26.6 cm), and 169W (27.0 cm), all part of the Big Horn series. The 169W is the largest size, designed for US boot 12+ (EU 46+). Standard sizes from 154 to 167 cm have waists from 24.6 to 25.9 cm, suited to US boot 7 through 11.
