Equinox Womens Snowboard Bindings - Eclipse Black 2027 FAQ
How does the Equinox compare to the Aurora in terms of stiffness?
The Equinox is noticeably softer: 2/5 flex vs. the Aurora's 3/5. It uses a Dynamic Flex highback for tweakable control, while the Aurora has a Progressive Flex highback for more freeride support. If you prioritize playfulness and freestyle maneuverability over precision and power, the Equinox is the better call.
What does the 3° canted foot pillow actually do?
The 3° canted foot pillow angles your foot slightly inward, aligning it more naturally with your knee. This reduces lateral strain during long resort days and lowers fatigue on full-day sessions. It's a comfort-focused feature that makes a noticeable difference when you're lapping the mountain for hours.
Will these bindings work with my Burton board or any standard board?
Yes. The Equinox includes a universal mounting disk compatible with 4x4, 2x4, and Burton's EST and Channel systems. No adapter needed, it mounts directly on any standard insert board or Burton Channel board.
Is the Equinox right for an intermediate woman who rides all-mountain?
Yes, it's built for exactly that. At 2/5 flex, it's forgiving and freestyle-friendly without feeling too loose for resort carving. Jones targets it at all-terrain cruising, freestyle, and surf slashing. It's not designed for charging hard at high speed: for that, the Aurora (3/5) is the better fit.
What does the Flip-It ankle strap let me do?
Flip-It lets you flip the ankle strap between two positions: Freeride mode (wide half above the buckle) for more lateral support and board response, or Surf mode (wide half below) for more ankle flex and mobility. The bushings in the post are also swappable. The Equinox ships with soft bushings in Surf mode.
What's the warranty on the Equinox?
Jones offers a lifetime warranty on the hanger and post. All other components, including straps and buckles, are covered for 1 year. If anything fails within the first season under normal use, the standard component warranty has it covered.
