Why are there two dials on the lacing system?
The Dialogue Dual BOA has an independent upper dial (H4) and a lower dial (M+2) that tighten different zones of the boot. On the Dialogue, the upper dial locks your ankle and instep, while the lower dial wraps more of your mid-foot and arch. That means you can dial in the upper shell tight for support without strangling your arch, or loosen the ankle a notch if your lower foot feels crushed. It's micro-adjustable fit on the fly, without re-lacing the whole boot.
What's this Precision Harness doing at the heel?
It's a three-point harness built into the heel cup that locks your heel in place when you dial the BOA. On the Dialogue, instead of your heel sliding around inside the shell, that harness grips it from three angles, so your foot stays planted during heel presses, butters, and landings. You get a fully-enveloped fit with zero heel lift, which means more control and less foot fatigue on park days.
Will these boots feel stiff or broken in right out of the box?
The Dialogue uses FTR construction, which is designed for instant, lasting comfort without a painful break-in. On the Dialogue, the Response liner and the boot's shell shape conform to your foot immediately, so you're not limping the first session. Yes, the Dialogue Dual BOA is available in a wide last. On the Dialogue Wide, the shell and liner are roomier across the mid-foot and heel cup, so you're not pinched on a standard last. Wide fit still gets the full Dual Zone BOA, Precision Harness, and DAMPLite+ outsole, so you're not sacrificing performance for comfort.
