Product Description
The Whatever is Bataleon's widest-range all-rounder, built to say yes to every rider and every condition on the hill. A 3D Directional Twin shape rides symmetrically in both directions while positive camber tip-to-tail (with medium 3BT™ nose and tail uplift) delivers pop, stability, and forgiving edge engagement across resort groomers and powder stashes alike. From first-timers to seasoned all-mountain riders, this is the board that does it all.
Product Details
| Rocker Type | Positive camber tip-to-tail with medium nose and tail uplift via Bataleon's Triple Base Technology (3BT™): contact points are raised at the board's widest points for a smoother, more forgiving ride that reduces edge catch, while progressive side base uplift enables fluid edge-to-edge transitions and confident carving. Camber Height: Medium. |
| Shape | 3D Directional Twin: a directional twin outline enhanced with 3BT™ three-dimensional shaping. Nose is slightly longer than tail; insert pack is centered for versatile stance options. |
| Flex | 5 / 10 — medium flex that balances playfulness with all-mountain stability. |
| Core | Light Core: a 2:2 Poplar/Paulownia wood blend that keeps the board light while staying lively and strong. The ratio of springy poplar to lightweight paulownia delivers an energetic yet controlled feel underfoot. |
| Laminates | Bi-Ax Laminate: traditional biaxial fiberglass weave running at 0°/90° — lightweight, strong, and playful; keeps the board snappy without adding torsional stiffness, ideal for creative all-mountain riding. · Carbon Stringers: carbon fiber reinforcements strategically placed within the layup for explosive pop off the tail, quick edge response, and improved dampening at high speed. |
| Sidewalls | FlexWalls™: poured-in urethane sidewalls replacing traditional ABS (the same material used in skateboard wheels). Result: stronger adhesion between layers, superior durability, and a smooth, vibration-dampened feel underfoot. |
| Base | Hyper Glide S: Bataleon's standard sintered base — durable and fast, holds wax well for all-day performance across varied snow conditions. |
| Additional Features | D.S.T. (Dual SuperTube™): a hollow carbon SuperTube™ running vertically alongside each rail of the board, reinforcing camber, reducing weight, and generating more pop and snap off both edges. |

Whatever Snowboard 2027 FAQ
Who is this board for, and what level do I need to be?
The Whatever is built for anyone, anywhere. From beginners finding their footing to advanced riders pushing limits, this board covers more sizes and terrain than anything else in Bataleon's lineup. On the Whatever, the 5/10 flex is forgiving enough for learning but responsive enough to keep up as you progress, so you won't outgrow it after one season.
Should I get a twin or a directional board?
It's a Directional Twin, which means you get the efficiency of a directional board for going downhill and floating powder, but the playfulness of a twin. On the Whatever, you can ride switch comfortably and pop tricks in the park. That duality makes it genuinely all-mountain instead of good-at-one-thing.
How stiff should my board be, and what does flex actually change on snow?
At 5/10, the Whatever is right down the middle: not floppy, not locked. On this board, the carbon stringers give you pop and edge response without excess weight, while the poured urethane sidewalls dampen vibrations underfoot. You get smooth feel and precise control at speed, with enough give to absorb hard landings.
What do carbon stringers or carbon additives do for the ride?
Bataleon places carbon fiber stringers strategically along the board. On the Whatever, they give you that snappy rebound when you load the board, great for tricks and launches, and keep everything quiet and stable when you're moving fast. It's energy without weight; you'll feel it in how quickly the board comes back under your feet.
Is this board good for powder?
Yes. The directional shape and medium nose uplift help you stay on top in deeper snow instead of diving in, while the medium tail uplift keeps your back foot in play. On the Whatever, the terrain bar shows it's equally happy on resort frontside and in powder, though it's not a dedicated pow gun. It's a solid generalist that won't sink when conditions turn white.
