Tornado X Beyond Medals Snowboard 2027 FAQ

Who is this board for, and what level do I need to be?

This is built for advanced to expert riders chasing all-mountain and freeride terrain. It's a redesigned flagship model from Bataleon, co-designed with pro rider Tor Lundström. The 8/10 flex and aggressive construction reward confident, high-speed riding on steep terrain and deep snow.

What's the difference between camber and rocker?

The Tornado runs full positive camber tip-to-tail, meaning the board arches underfoot for edge grip and pop. The SideKick 2.0 system lifts the nose and tail off the snow, blending camber's snap with rocker's forgiveness. You get solid contact underfoot for carving and explosive energy, plus float when you need it.

How stiff should my board be, and what does flex actually change on snow?

At 8/10, the Tornado is on the stiffer side. That stiffness locks in edge response at speed and holds a line through chop, making it precise and stable when you're pushing hard down big terrain. You'll feel every input; it won't absorb mistakes, so commit to your turns.

What do carbon stringers or carbon additives do for the ride?

The Tornado uses carbon stringers positioned throughout the core for explosive pop and instant edge response, plus added dampening at high speed so the board stays composed. Carbon gives you energy without the weight penalty, meaning faster edge-to-edge transitions and fewer vibrations in chop.

Is this board good for powder?

Yes. The directional twin shape, lifted nose and tail via SideKick 2.0, and medium camber height all help. The wide nose floats on top of fresh snow, and the setback stance keeps your weight planted on the tail for control. Pow is a primary terrain for this board.
