Rene Snowboard 2027 FAQ
Who is this board for, and what level do I need to be?
The Rene is a mellow, playful board built with a softer bamboo core. On the Rome Rene, this approachable flex works for riders who want versatility without fighting stiffness: all-mountain terrain is a strength (rated 8), park tricks flow (6), and you're rewarded for solid technique rather than punished for mistakes. Intermediate and advancing riders thrive here.
Should I get a twin or a directional board?
The Rene is a directional twin: centered stance, but a true nose-to-tail symmetry. On the Rome Rene, this means you keep twin-board playfulness and switch capability in park, plus the directional weighting helps carve and travel more decisively downhill. Best of both worlds if you split time between park and groomers.
What's the difference between camber and rocker?
This board has Fusion Camber: rocker in the nose and tail tips, camber locked underfoot. On the Rome Rene, that underfoot camber gives you edge pop and snap for tricks and tight carves, while the rocker in the tips forgives early/late catches and lets the nose float a touch in soft snow. Forgiving pop.
How stiff should my board be, and what does flex actually change on snow?
The Rene flexes at a 7 (playful-leaning, not stiff). On the Rome Rene, that softness means butter-smooth press-ability, easy lock-in at moderate speed, and quick response to weight shifts. You sacrifice a little high-speed chatter resistance, but gain playfulness and forgiveness. Pick this if you value feel over pure stability.
What makes a base fast — extruded vs. sintered?
The Rene rides a sintered base (SinterStrong), which is porous and absorbs wax efficiently. On the Rome Rene, sintered bases are faster on cold, dry snow and hold speed well when well-tuned. The tradeoff: they need regular maintenance and rewaxing. Not the absolute fastest grade, but genuinely speedy and responsive to tuning.
