Product Description

Built alongside Ståle Sandbech for days when the mountain is yours to pillage, the Rome Stale Fish channels deep-powder confidence into every descent. Free-the-Ride Camber keeps the nose afloat and the tail snappy, while the three-dimensional Directional Diamond 3D nose and a Carbon HotRod inject precise, powerful response through variable terrain. Directional shape with a set-back stance makes it equally at home threading trees or laying euro carves. For advanced riders who charge hard and ride everything.

Stale Fish Snowboard 2027 FAQ

Who is this board for, and what level do I need to be?

The Stale Fish is built for aggressive all-mountain riding and powder piloting. This is an intermediate to advanced rider's board: you need solid edge control and the confidence to charge variable terrain and deep snow. Ståle's own choice, it rewards riders who push hard on every aspect of the mountain.

Is this board good for powder?

Absolutely. The nose is shaped in three dimensions to reduce drag, and it flips into rocker so it floats on top of deep snow without diving. The board tapers gradually toward the tail, keeping you planted in the back foot on bottomless days. The terrain rating confirms it: this is a 9 out of 10 powder board.

What's the difference between camber and rocker?

The Stale Fish uses a hybrid: rocker in the nose and tail for float and forgiveness in variable snow, camber underfoot for edge grip and pop when you're carving. This combo lets you rip aggressively when conditions allow, then float and absorb on technical terrain or in powder without catching edges.

What do carbon stringers or carbon additives do for the ride?

A single carbon rod runs tip-to-tail under your feet for power and responsiveness. Paired with flax-reinforced sidewalls, the board gains torsional stiffness without dead weight. You get snappy edge-to-edge transitions and lively pop when you ask for it, plus durability through rough snow and variable conditions.

What makes a base fast — extruded vs. sintered?

The Stale Fish has a sintered base, which is porous and absorbs wax deeper than extruded bases. It's naturally faster on cold, dry snow and holds an edge even as it glides. The trade-off: it needs regular waxing in heavy use. On bottomless powder days, that speed adds up fast.
