How do I pick the right binding size?
The Basin comes in S, M, and L, each fitting a specific boot size range: Small for sizes 7–9, Medium for 9.5–11, and Large for 11.5+. The binding's baseplate and strap geometry are molded to those ranges. On the Basin, picking the right size keeps your foot centered on the deck and ensures the toe strap hooks properly over the boot nose without slack or pinch.
What does binding flex change on snow?
The Basin is mid-soft, with a soft-to-medium flex edge-to-edge and side-to-side. That means a responsive but forgiving feel, ideal for all-mountain and park riding where you need both playfulness and control. On the Basin, the softer flex absorbs chop and lets you tweak and press easily, perfect for lapping comfortably without fatigue.
What is the highback for?
The highback is a mid-soft curved piece that transfers calf pressure to the heel edge during turns. The Basin's highback is shaped to optimize tweakability while keeping a direct connection to the board. On the Basin, that soft flex lets you load the edge with precision without the highback fighting back, so heel-side turns feel natural and the board stays underfoot.
What does the baseplate material change?
The Basin uses a molded Foundation Foam baseplate, a dampening material that absorbs vibration and impact while preserving board flex. Unlike hard plastic or metal baseplates, foam damps chatter and transmits board feedback rather than deadening it. What's the difference between strap, step-in, and rear-entry bindings?
The Basin is a strap binding with the FASE system: an AutoBack highback that snaps closed when you step in (no lever), plus a FastStrap ankle ladder that lets you ratchet with one hand. Step-in bindings (Burton Step On) lock cleats on the boot itself; rear-entry (Flow) drops the highback backward. On the Basin, you get fast entry without losing adjustability or boot compatibility, since any standard boot works with straps.
