Xxx Fava Pro Snowboard 2027 FAQ
Who is this board for, and what level do I need to be?
This is Pat Fava's pro model, built for all freestyle riding types. On the XXX Fava Pro, that means park, streets, and resort riding. The mid-stiff flex and hybrid twin shape make it responsive enough for intermediate to advanced riders who want one board that handles tricks, landings, and varied terrain without compromise.
What's the difference between camber and rocker?
Camber is a curve that arcs upward from nose to tail, making the board spring back and grip harder. The XXX Fava Pro has true medium camber, a classic arc between your bindings. That gives you snappy pop for tricks and solid edge hold when you carve, but it's not as forgiving of awkward touch-downs as a rocker or flat profile would be.
How stiff should my board be, and what does flex actually change on snow?
Flex ranges from soft (playful, forgiving) to stiff (stable, responsive). The XXX Fava Pro runs mid-stiff at 7 out of 10, so it balances pop and snap for tricks without being so rigid that landings feel harsh. You get precision and edge control at speed, but it's still lively enough to butter and pivot without exhausting your legs.
What do carbon stringers or carbon additives do for the ride?
Carbon adds lightweight stiffness and pop without bulk. This board has twin carbon boost stringers running tip-to-tail, delivering responsive spring-back energy when you press or launch. That means quicker rebound after tricks and more feel underfoot, with less weight slowing you down compared to heavier alternatives.
What makes a base fast — extruded vs. sintered?
Sintered bases are denser and faster because they absorb wax deeply, gliding smoother on varied snow. Extruded bases are simpler and need less maintenance. The XXX Fava Pro has a sintered base with high molecular mass (8.4M), so it's built for speed and durability. You'll need regular wax, but you get noticeably quicker edge-to-edge performance and a base that lasts longer under impact.
