The Glow Up By Jk Youth Snowboard 2027 FAQ
Who is this board for, and what level do I need to be?
The Glow Up is built for teenage and pre-teen girls progressing from beginner to intermediate. On this board, you get a softer flex (3.5 out of 10) that's forgiving when you're still dialing in edge control, plus a true twin shape so you can ride switch as you build confidence. It's sized smaller and lighter than full adult models, so it won't tire you out while you learn all-mountain and park tricks.
Should I get a twin or a directional board?
This board is a true twin, meaning both ends are identical. On the Glow Up, that symmetry lets you ride switch easily, jib either direction, and experiment in the park without having to ride backwards to one end. If you're learning tricks or want maximum versatility across the resort, a twin is more fun and forgiving than a directional shape.
How stiff should my board be, and what does flex actually change on snow?
The Glow Up has a flex rating of 3.5 out of 10, making it soft to moderately soft. On this board, that softer flex means the board responds quickly to small movements and forgives sloppy landings when you're still dialing technique. You can twist it easily, so jibbing and learning tricks feel less demanding. That same softness does sacrifice a bit of high-speed stability, but for progression and park play, that trade is worth it.
What's the difference between camber and rocker?
This board uses Park V1 profile: traditional camber that flattens out 4 centimetres before the edges end, creating small zero-camber zones. On the Glow Up, that design gives you snappy edge response and pop for tricks, while the flat sections make landings forgiving. You get the energy of camber without the harsh feedback, tuned specifically for park riding and progression tricks.
What do the fiberglass layers actually change?
This board wraps a biaxial fiberglass at 626 grams per square metre bonded with plant-based, eco-friendly resin. On the Glow Up, biaxial glass (fibres running at 45 degrees both directions) gives torsional flex and playfulness, letting the board twist and absorb impact without cracking. That flexibility pairs well with the softer core, so tricks feel smoother and falls hurt less.
