What's the Direct Connect System and why does it matter?
Direct Connect is ultra-lightweight mounting: two screws + two washers, no disk. Reduced height maximizes board connection, fastest edge-to-edge energy transfer possible. Exclusive to Source Lab bindings, requires 4x2 compatible boards.
Is Source lighter than traditional bindings?
Yes. At 1.50 kg (pair), Source is one of Union's lightest. The Direct Connect system and Halo baseplate design with reduced height minimize weight without sacrificing durability.
How forgiving is the Source compared to Source FC?
More forgiving. Source uses Duraflex CB (not full Forged Carbon) and a wider Hybrid 2.0 ankle strap. It's the most accessible Lab binding for intermediate to advanced riders seeking board connection and performance without extreme setup requirements.
Does Source only come in 4x2?
Yes. Direct Connect System is exclusive to 4x2 mounting. Availability is M and L sizes only. If you need Channel or 4x4, consider Source Pro TH or Source FC instead.
