7 Youth Ski Bindings - Black/Anthracite 2027 FAQ
What boot types work with the Marker 7.0, including GripWalk?
The Marker 7.0 accepts four sole norms: children's Alpine (type C), adult Alpine (type A), children's GripWalk (GW C), and adult GripWalk (GW A). That covers the vast majority of junior and entry-level adult boots, so the binding remains compatible as your child grows from kids' boots into adult sizes.
Is the DIN range right for my child's weight and age?
The DIN range is 2.0 to 7.0, covering recommended skier weights from 24 to 75 kg. That window fits most children and lighter teens. If your child is close to 75 kg and skiing aggressively, they may be near the ceiling and should consider stepping up to an adult binding with a higher DIN ceiling.
Can my kid step in and out on their own, or do they need help every time?
The 7.0 is designed specifically for easy independent entry and exit. The Junior 4linkage toe and Compact Junior heel are sized and shaped for smaller boots, keeping step-in force low enough for a child to handle on their own at the lift or after a fall.
Which brake width do I need for my child's skis?
The Marker 7.0 is available with 70 mm or 85 mm brakes. Choose the width closest to your ski's waist measurement, going slightly wider if the waist falls between sizes. The 70 mm fits most narrower junior skis; the 85 mm suits wider all-mountain junior skis.
How heavy and bulky are these bindings on a junior setup?
Each binding weighs 570 g and sits at a 22 mm stand height. That's a compact, lightweight package for a junior binding. The low stack keeps your child close to the ski for direct power transmission and edge control, without raising the center of gravity enough to affect balance for young learners.
