Product Details
| Rocker Type | Tip rocker / camber / tail rocker: rockered tip and tail for easy turn initiation and float, camber underfoot for edge grip and rebound |
| Flex | 6 / 10 |
| Shape / Sidecut | Directional Twin: tail notably narrower than tip for optimal downhill performance, with a twin tip tail for freestyle attitude and easy switch skiing. Prodigy 0 Skis 2027 FAQ
I'm just getting into freeskiing — is the Prodigy 0 the right starting point?
Yes. The Prodigy 0 is Faction's entry point into the Prodigy line, designed specifically for beginners progressing into freeskiing. Its Fusion Wood Core (poplar and engineered foam) keeps it light and playful, the 85 mm waist works across groomed terrain, and the Elliptical Sidecut with rocker-camber-rocker profile makes turn initiation intuitive. At flex 6, it is forgiving rather than demanding.
Will I outgrow the Prodigy 0 quickly, or is it a ski I can progress on for a while?
The Prodigy 0 covers the beginner-to-improving-intermediate range. Its flex 6 and Fusion Core are built for ease of use, not maximum performance, so confident intermediates who push hard on terrain will eventually feel it plateau. As a first freeski for someone coming from recreational skiing, it gives you a full season or more of progression before you start craving the step up to the Prodigy 1.
What is the Fusion Wood Core and is it as good as a full wood core?
The Fusion Wood Core blends lightweight poplar wood with engineered foam zones. The poplar provides rebound, strength, and predictable flex; the foam zones reduce overall weight and damp vibration. It is lighter and more forgiving than a full wood core, which is the right trade-off at this entry level. The result is a ski that feels lively and playful without the stiff, demanding character of higher-spec wood constructions.
What sizes does the Prodigy 0 come in?
The Prodigy 0 is available in 150 cm (1610 g/ski), 157 cm (1660 g/ski), 164 cm (1710 g/ski), and 171 cm (1760 g/ski). For a first freeski, sizing to chin height or just below makes the ski easier to maneuver. Beginners should lean shorter; heavier or taller riders progressing quickly can go up a size.
Do bindings come with the Prodigy 0?
No, the Prodigy 0 ships as a flat ski. Bindings are sold separately and must be mounted by a shop. The drill spec is 4.1 x 9 mm, compatible with standard adult alpine bindings. Three mounting positions are available: Newschool (+3 cm), Progressive (+1.5 cm), or Classic (factory line).
