Product Details
| Core | Poplar/Ash Core: poplar (lightweight softwood) delivers flex, pop, and vibration absorption; ash (hardwood) adds stiffness and durability for exceptional edge hold on hard snow and a solid platform for stomping landings |
| Edges | XL 2.5mm Edges: 25% thicker than standard 2.0mm edges, providing greater impact resistance and extended durability |
| Shape | Directional Twin: considerably narrower tail than tip for optimal downhill performance, with a twin-tip tail for freestyle playfulness and ease of switch skiing |
| Sidecut | Elliptical Sidecut: longer radius underfoot for faster, easier pivoting; shorter radius in tip and tail for easier turn initiation, offering a wide variety of turn lengths, angles, and mounting positions |
| Profile | Tip rocker (18% of running length) / camber (3 mm) / tail rocker (14% of running length): combines float and easy entry with powerful mid-ski grip |

Prodigy 1 Capsule Skis 2027 FAQ
What is the difference between the Prodigy 1 Capsule and the standard Prodigy 1?
The Prodigy 1 Capsule is mechanically identical to the standard Prodigy 1 — same 88 mm waist, Poplar/Ash core, Directional Twin shape, Elliptical Sidecut, Carbon/Rubber Stomp Pad, XL 2.5 mm edges, Full Strength Sidewall, and flex 7. The difference is the limited-edition topsheet artwork by artist Elsa Grace, part of her final Prodigy Capsule residency collection. Same five sizes as the standard model.
I ride park and piste — is the Prodigy 1 Capsule precise enough for hard-pack carving?
Yes. The Prodigy 1 Capsule's 88 mm waist keeps it quick and carvy on firm snow. The Poplar/Ash core adds stiffness and edge hold compared to a pure poplar construction, and Full Strength Sidewalls protect the core while maximizing contact with the edge. At flex 7, it rewards confident skiing on-piste and holds well on groomed hardpack.
Will it hold up to rails and repeated park hits?
The Prodigy 1 Capsule has a Carbon/Rubber Stomp Pad underfoot (600 mm long, 15 mm wide) that protects the wood core from rail impacts and absorbs boot vibration. XL 2.5 mm edges — 25% thicker than standard — resist chipping on rails and rock strikes. The Full Strength Sidewall runs the full length for additional protection from side impacts.
What mounting positions are available?
Three positions are offered. Newschool (+3 cm forward) centers your stance for maximum playfulness and switch skiing. Progressive (+1.5 cm) balances park creativity with carving performance. Classic (factory line) delivers optimal stability, edge hold, and float — best for on-piste focused skiing. Most park-piste riders start at Progressive or Newschool.
What sizes does the Prodigy 1 Capsule come in?
The Prodigy 1 Capsule is available in 158 cm (1500 g/ski), 164 cm (1580 g/ski), 171 cm (1640 g/ski), 178 cm (1750 g/ski), and 184 cm (1800 g/ski). For a park and piste ski, chin to nose height is the standard reference. Lighter and park-focused riders size down; taller, heavier, or carving-focused riders go longer.
