Strive 12 Gw Ski Bindings - White/Black 2027 FAQ
My boots have GripWalk soles — will the Strive 12 GW work with them?
Yes. The Strive 12 GW is dual-certified: Alpine (ISO 5355) and GripWalk (ISO 23223). It safely accepts GripWalk-soled boots, which have a rockered sole that older alpine-only bindings aren't rated for. TÜV certified, so the GripWalk compatibility is tested and verified.
Is a DIN range of 4-12 right for me, or should I go up to the 14?
A 4-12 DIN range suits recreational to intermediate-advanced skiers of average weight and ability. If your calculated DIN (based on height, weight, age, and skiing level) sits between 6 and 10, the Strive 12 GW gives you a comfortable window on both ends. If you're a heavier, aggressive skier whose DIN approaches 12, stepping up to the Strive 14 GW gives you more margin at the top.
Will the brakes fit my skis?
The Strive 12 GW is available with brake sizes L90, L100, and L115 (depending on colorway). Choose a brake equal to or slightly wider than your ski waist. For a 94mm-waist ski the L100 works; for 106mm or wider, pick the L115 to ensure the brakes clear the ski and deploy correctly after a fall.
What makes the BC 3-parts heel different from a standard heel piece?
The BC 3-parts heel on the Strive 12 GW is extra-wide by design, providing extreme resistance against heel pull-out and stronger overall hold than a narrow single-piece heel. It's engineered specifically for intense freeskiing, where the forces on the heel piece during hard carving or variable terrain are much higher than in casual resort skiing.
How much does the Strive 12 GW weigh — will it add noticeable mass to my skis?
The Strive 12 GW weighs 920 g per half-pair (one binding). That's in the mid-range for an all-mountain alpine binding and won't feel heavy compared to most system or integrated plate bindings. The 19.6mm stack height keeps the binding profile low on the ski.
