Strive 14 Gw Ski Bindings - Black/Neon Yellow 2027 FAQ

My boots have GripWalk soles — will the Strive 14 GW work with them?

Yes. The Strive 14 GW is certified for both Alpine (ISO 5355) and GripWalk (ISO 23223) boot soles, and TÜV verified. GripWalk boots have a rockered sole that older non-certified alpine bindings can't handle safely, so this certification matters if your boots are GripWalk-equipped.

Is a DIN range of 5-14 right for an aggressive skier, or is 14 really needed?

A 5-14 DIN range is suited for confident intermediate to expert skiers, including heavier or more aggressive riders who generate higher forces in a fall. If your calculated DIN (height, weight, age, level) lands between 8 and 12, the Strive 14 GW gives you solid headroom on both sides. The Strive 16 MN is the step up if your DIN is consistently at or above 14.

Will the brakes fit my wide freeride skis?

The Strive 14 GW comes in brake sizes D90, D100, D115 (and D130 on the Black/Silver colorway). For wide freeride skis with a 106mm waist, the D115 is the right choice. If your skis measure 130mm underfoot or more, the D130 option (Black/Silver only) covers you.

I ski hard on variable terrain — will this binding hold me but still release cleanly in a crash?

The Strive 14 GW is built for intense freeskiing. The extra-wide BC 3-parts heel provides extreme retention during hard skiing, while the DIN-certified release mechanism is set by a shop tech to your personal release value. TÜV certification means the release function has been independently tested for reliability.

How much does the Strive 14 GW weigh compared to the 12 GW?

The Strive 14 GW weighs 980 g per half-pair, about 60 g more than the Strive 12 GW (920 g). The extra weight comes with the stronger, wider heel piece and higher DIN-range components. Stack height is the same at 19.6mm, so the feel underfoot is comparable.
