Product Description
The Salomon QST 100 is the versatile core of the QST freeride family, bridging all-mountain agility and big-mountain commitment at 100mm underfoot. Full-length basalt and fiberglass fibers work together across the entire platform for responsive flex and tenacious edge grip. A poplar woodcore keeps the ride lively and quiet, while an injected cork and TPU Damplifier in the tip and tail absorbs chop without adding a gram. For advancing and expert riders ready to push off-piste.

Qst 100 Skis - Black 2027 FAQ
What terrain is the QST 100 built for — all-mountain or more freeride?
At 100mm underfoot, the QST 100 sits between the more groomer-oriented QST 94 and the big-mountain QST 106. It's a genuine freeride ski that performs well off-piste and in soft snow while still being manageable on groomers. It suits skiers who spend the majority of their time in mixed or off-piste terrain and want versatility without going full big-mountain width.
What length should I choose?
The QST 100 comes in six lengths: 148, 156, 164, 172, 180, and 188 cm. The 148 cm entry point suits shorter or lighter riders; the top end at 188 cm is for tall, heavy, or fast skiers who prioritize high-speed stability. Per ski weight climbs from 1470 g (148 cm) to 2000 g (188 cm), so length directly affects how the ski feels when you swing it.
What do basalt fibers add to the QST 100 compared to a regular fiberglass ski?
The QST 100 uses full-length basalt fibers paired with fiberglass throughout the ski. Basalt is denser and stiffer than standard glass, improving edge grip and torsional stiffness without the weight penalty of metal (titanal). The result is better edge hold on hard snow than a pure fiberglass construction, while staying lighter than a metal-laminate ski.
What is the Cork Damplifier and does it actually work on rough snow?
The Cork Damplifier on the QST 100 is an injected piece of cork and TPU placed inside the tip and tail rocker sections. Cork is a natural vibration absorber, and by placing it in the rocker where the ski is lifted off the snow, Salomon is targeting where chatter and vibration enter the ski. The benefit is a smoother, less fatiguing ride without adding weight.
Does the QST 100 come with bindings?
The QST 100 is sold as a flat ski without bindings. You'll need to buy and mount bindings separately through a shop. There are no pre-mounted binding packages for the adult QST 100.
I'm choosing between the QST 100 and QST 106 — which should I get?
The QST 100 (100mm waist) is the more versatile choice if you ski a mix of on-piste and off-piste. The QST 106 (106mm waist) is intended for skiers who prioritize powder, couloirs, and big-mountain terrain where float and width matter more than groomer feel. Both share the same basalt-fiberglass construction and Cork Damplifier.
