Which goggles are these Sigma lenses compatible with?
These lenses fit the Sentry Pro frame only. Two size variants exist: SO lenses (large/medium, for the standard Sentry Pro) and SOS lenses (small, for the Sentry Pro S). Make sure to pick the right sub-size. They are not compatible with Sentry Prime or S/View frames.
What does Sigma actually do, is it just a marketing name?
Sigma is a spectral filtering technology: it reduces green light in the middle of the visible spectrum while boosting blue and red light transmission. On snow, that shift sharpens color contrast and depth perception, helping your eye read terrain variations, bumps, and icy patches faster than a standard tinted lens.
I ride in all kinds of light: flat light, bright sun, everything. Is there one lens that handles it all?
Yes. The Sigma Photo Sky Blue (Cat.1-3, VLT 12–46%) and Sigma Photo Poppy Red (Cat.1-3, VLT 13–55%) are photochromic: they automatically darken in bright sun and lighten in flat or overcast conditions. Both combine Sigma's contrast boost with the photochromic adaptation, so you get one lens for most riding situations.
What if I only ride on clear sunny days? Do I need a Cat.4?
The Sigma Black Silver (Cat.4, VLT 6%) is the darkest option available for the Sentry Pro. At 6% light transmission, it's built for very bright alpine conditions and high-altitude glacier days. For typical groomed runs in sun, a Cat.3 like Sigma Sky Blue (VLT 13%) is usually sufficient.
Do these lenses have anti-fog protection?
Yes. Each Sigma lens for the Sentry Pro has an anti-fog coating on the inner surface. When mounted in the Sentry Pro frame, double lens construction adds thermal insulation between the layers, and 360-degree ventilation moves air through the frame to prevent moisture buildup.
Are these lenses UV-protected?
All Salomon lenses provide 100% UV cut, and these Sigma lenses for the Sentry Pro are no exception. Full UV protection is independent of the lens category or VLT value. ISO 18527-1:2022 compliant.
