Dx3 L Otg Lens Goggles - Clear FAQ
Can I wear my prescription glasses under the DX3 L OTG?
Yes. The OTG (Over-The-Glass) design includes cut-outs in the dual-layer face foam that accommodate temple arms, so your prescription frames slide in cleanly. The goggle still seals normally against your face, with no pressure on the arms and no light leakage at the temples.
'L' is in the name, is this only for people with a large head?
The DX3 L OTG is a Large Fit goggle, built for riders with wider or taller facial profiles. If standard goggles feel too tight across the nose or temples, the Large Fit gives you the room you need without sacrificing the seal. It also comes in Alternative Fit (AF) for additional geometry options.
Will these fog up on the mountain?
The DX3 L OTG has a Super Anti-Fog Coating applied directly to the inner lens surface to resist moisture buildup throughout the day. The dual-layer face foam also helps regulate airflow between the foam and the lens, reducing condensation during high-output laps or warm chair lift rides.
Do the DX3 L OTG work with a helmet?
Yes. The DX3 L OTG is built for helmet use: the strap is calibrated for over-helmet wear and has a silicone backing that keeps it from shifting on the shell. The Large Fit frame also pairs naturally with larger helmet profiles, reducing the gap between goggle and helmet.
How do I choose the right lens tint for the conditions I ride in?
The DX3 L OTG comes in tints from Clear (83% VLT, flat light and night riding) to Midnight (6% VLT, intense sun). For variable or mixed conditions, Pink Ion (54% VLT) or Flash Blue Ion (48% VLT) are solid mid-range picks. Ionized tints layer glare reduction onto the Lumalens contrast enhancement.
What is Lumalens and does it actually help on the hill?
Lumalens Color Optimized Technology is Dragon's proprietary lens system, engineered to increase color contrast and terrain definition across different lighting. On the DX3 L OTG, every tint is produced through Lumalens, so the optical improvement is built into the lens itself, not added as a surface filter. The difference is most noticeable on flat-light and overcast days when terrain detail fades.
Will the foam bother my skin during a full day of riding?
The DX3 L OTG uses a Dual Layer Face Foam with a Hypoallergenic Microfleece inner lining. The microfleece is soft, moisture-wicking, and rated as hypoallergenic, making it a reliable choice for riders who react to standard foam linings. The dual-layer structure also distributes contact pressure more evenly across the face.
Are the lenses protected against scratches and smudging?
Yes. The DX3 L OTG lenses have three surface coatings: Hard Coating for scratch resistance, Oleophobic Coating to repel oils and fingerprints, and Hydrophobic Coating to shed water. Together they keep the lens cleaner between wipes and significantly extend its lifespan compared to an uncoated lens.
