Is this jacket warm enough on its own, or do I need a layer under it?
The Shell Jacket carries no insulation. It's a true shell built to be layered over a mid-layer or puffy, using its 15k/15k waterproof breathable nylon and fully taped seams for weather protection while you control warmth with what's underneath.
Will I stay dry in heavy snow or rain?
Yes. Beyond the 15k/15k waterproof rating, the jacket uses a storm flap over the 2-way YKK Vislon zipper and waterproof YKK zippers on the hand and chest pockets, so water is blocked at every entry point, not just the main shell fabric.
Is this jacket only for on-hill use, or can I wear it around town?
