Sexton Mitt - Black FAQ
How warm are these mitts for cold days?
The Sexton carries a Warmth Rating of 4, backed by Primaloft insulation and a high-pile recycled fleece and Micro Bemberg lining. That combination is built for genuinely cold, all-day conditions rather than mild spring riding.
Will my hands stay dry in wet snow?
Yes. The Sexton uses Vaportek waterproofing and ships with an included Nikwax sachet for extra weather-resistance treatment, on top of a supple Grade A goatskin leather exterior rated 10k/10k waterproof. Goatskin also naturally sheds moisture better than fabric-only exteriors.
Why leather instead of a synthetic shell?
Goatskin leather is more abrasion- and puncture-resistant than most synthetic shells, so it holds up better against rope tows, edges, and repeated grabbing. It's reinforced with palm detailing in the high-wear zones, and the raised leather design is meant to age well rather than degrade.
Can I still use my phone with these on?
Yes, the Sexton has touch screen ability built into the fingers and thumb, so you don't need to remove the mitt to use your phone. It also has a removable jacquard elastic wrist leash so you can let the mitt hang without losing it.
Will these fall off my wrist if I take them off on the lift?
The undercuff design closes with a velcro tab, and there's a removable elastic wrist leash you can clip on so the mitt stays attached to your jacket sleeve if you pull your hand out mid-run.
