Team Heli 2.0 Pro Kai Jones Backpack - Kelp FAQ
Is this the same pack as the regular Heli 2.0 Pro 20L, or is it different?
It's the same Heli 2.0 Pro 20L build (RECCO technology, removable helmet carry, diagonal or A-frame ski/splitboard carry, vertical snowboard carry) released as part of the Dakine Signature Series with pro snowboarder Kai Jones, in the Jones Kelp colorway. The construction and feature set match the standard Pro 20L.
Does this pack have avalanche rescue tech?
Yes, RECCO technology is built in, letting professional rescuers using RECCO detectors locate you faster in an avalanche or if lost in the backcountry. It's paired with a snow tools/shovel pocket with sleeves for your shovel and probe.
Can this pack carry my snowboard and skis both?
Yes, it has vertical snowboard deployable carry with a horizontal option, plus diagonal or A-frame ski/splitboard deployable carry, so the same pack works for resort laps or backcountry missions regardless of which board or skis you're running.
Will my hydration bladder freeze in cold weather?
The main compartment is two-way radio handset or insulated hydration compatible, built to accept an insulated bladder sleeve that slows freezing. A large fleece-lined goggle pocket rounds out the cold-weather setup.
How durable is this pack for daily use?
It's built from 100% recycled 600D polyester diamond ripstop and 100% recycled 600D coated polyester, a heavy-denier combination chosen for abrasion resistance against chairlifts, rocks, and daily loading, the same fabric spec as the rest of the Heli 2.0 Pro line.
