Product Description

The Tape Deck is Nidecker's throwback twin for riders who want modern performance wrapped in old-school soul. A pronounced kick delivers effortless spins, smooth butters, and playful wallride sessions, while a wider waist boosts float in powder and keeps boot overhang in check. Built on a pure Camber platform with a light, responsive core and a pop-enhancing carbon layer, it rides with crisp energy from nose to tail. Park addicts, urban explorers, and all-mountain freestylers alike will feel right at home.

Tape Deck Snowboard 2027 FAQ

Can I ride the Tape Deck switch, or is it mainly directional?

The Tape Deck is a True Twin with zero setback across all sizes, so it's equally balanced riding regular or switch. It's built around a 90s-inspired twin shape with a steep kick — specifically designed for spins, butters, and wall rides in both directions.

Is the Tape Deck only for park, or can it handle all-mountain terrain too?

It does both well. The terrain indicator reads Resort 4/5, Pow 4/5, and Park 4/5 — genuinely balanced across all three. The wider waist (247 to 270 mm depending on size) adds float in powder, while the camber profile and Pop Carbon layer keep it responsive on groomers and in the park.

Will the Tape Deck have enough pop for ollies and jumps?

Yes. The Tape Deck uses a Pop Carbon layer combined with a Light Core and a full camber profile. Camber stores and releases energy through the tip and tail, and the carbon layer amplifies that snap. The Biax Plus fiberglass keeps it lively without making it stiff or heavy.

How much base maintenance does the Tape Deck need to stay fast?

The Tape Deck uses an N-7000 Hybrid base, a sintered/extruded hybrid that holds wax better than a pure extruded base but is easier to repair than a full sintered base. Wax it regularly every few sessions to keep it running fast. If you nick it, it's straightforward to stone-grind and patch.

Will my bindings fit the Tape Deck?

The Tape Deck uses a 4x2/6 insert pattern (two rows of inserts spaced 4 cm apart, plus 6 central inserts). This is compatible with all standard binding discs. It does not use Burton's Channel system, so a standard disc from any brand will work.

I'm between a 153 and a 156 — which length should I go with on the Tape Deck?

The 153 is suggested for riders 55–80 kg (120–175 lbs), the 156 for 65–90 kg (145–200 lbs). If your weight falls in the overlap, go shorter for a more playful, easier-to-spin feel, or longer for more stability at speed. For park and butter-focused riding, the shorter length tends to be more fun.

I have size 11 boots — will there be heel or toe drag on the Tape Deck?

The 159 (standard width, 260 mm waist) pairs with binding size L–XL per Nidecker's chart. A size 11 boot typically fits an L binding, so the 159 is the right call. If you have wider boots or ride with a lot of forward lean, the 159W at 270 mm gives extra clearance and reduces any drag risk.
