Backcountry Splitboards
Most splitboards are made for the backcountry, and this page is where the idea comes through: ungroomed terrain away from the lifts, climbed on skins with the board split into two skis and ridden down as one. Most are directional, with a lifted nose for float and a camber or hybrid profile that grips on the way up and holds an edge on the way down. Weight matters because you carry it and climb with it, and bindings and pucks have to match the board’s hardware, so check that before you pair them.
